    There was one playing on trial a few weeks ago. But that wasn’t the same boro keeper that was rumoured to be joining! All a bit speculation this time of year.

    Frequently played in Prem B apparently which is a million years ahead
    National League .I prefer to wait and see before being pessimistic or optimistic.

    None of us will have heard or seen him play. MH certainly has, so for now, I will trust his judgement on this signing and make my mind up when we have seen him settle and play a few games for us

    I like his attitude. If he's half as impressive between the sticks as he comes across in his signing interview then he'll be a great keeper:

    Thanks for posting. He comes across as a great level headed lad. He certainly will be a presence in the box at 6-4. I’m pretty much encouraged and hope he does really well , because…that means we will.!

    Notice he wasn’t “ buzzin” . A great start.

    Is it? How do you come to that conclusion? Most of the Prem B teams get knocked out by teams in our league in the Papa John’s trophy, they never really get further than the first round or 2 of knockouts.

    Million years ahead is a ridiculous statement to make

    Goalkeepers only have one position. The money premiership sides have, mean they can have very good goalies not playing. Man City for example have had a few of them in Carson and Wright. So i think it's the opposite of what you are saying

    Like all signings we can’t judge until they have played a few games. In this case Hughes has managed him before and probably has contacts still in Southampton who have brought him up to date and he has been glowing about him so we will just have to wait and see how him and Hornby perform next season

    Precisely Park, I prefer to look and see, not rule someone out just because they haven’t played 25 games a season for a CC or Prem club. If they had, they wouldn’t be here!!!

    Exactly as a 2nd Div team, we have to take a risk or sign someone in their twilight. Interestingly from a striker angle, we wouldn't have signed Stockton, McKirdy, Telford or Mullin based on their history but then they suddenly hit it off

    Just a hunch but I'm assuming Man City aren't as worried as most teams about looking after the pennies when paying 3rd or 4th choice keepers!

    Did you see Brad Jones play?

    Again it's only one example but I think it's more common than you think.

    One thing... Did he actually sign a couple of days ago?

    In the video the pitch behind him is in great condition but it was being taken up the day he was said to have signed, if not the day before.

    Doesn't really matter but just realised!

    Seems a level headed ambitious young man. Could have stayed at Soton and taken a cushty wage-his words- but he wants to play first team games so good on him.
