If it's just Harrogate, then that should be tens, not hundreds

They are cross checking it with the Bradford City database and will cancel tickets if you have a history of buying tickets or are a season ticket holder at Valley Parade.

If they are allowed to view your data without your permission, that must be wrong.

There are six legitimate reasons for processing Data (excluding what is known as special date, which this is not) under the DPA, and them checking with BCAFC probably just about passes the threshold on all of them.

    1. Consent of the data subject.
    2. Necessary for the performance of a contract.
    3. Legal obligation placed upon controller.
    4. Necessary to protect the vital interests of the data subject.
    5. Carried out in the public interest or is in the exercise of official authority.
    6. Legitimate interest pursued by controller.

You will have given consent in the online buying process. You cant do any online shopping these days without having done that and there is much more to it that saying no to e-mails/ texts/ calls etc on the marketing bit. Any professional organisation (and Harrogate just about meet that requirement) will be absolutely watertight on it being in the T&Cs

It's Harrogate, not Millwall.... just be yourself and enjoy the game be in the away or any of the home parts of the ground.

General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) these days. God knows how many times I've done the training...

    The principles | ICO

You can't just pass data to other organisations, they must be specified...if data has been passed between the 2 organisations then it should have been explicitly specified and agreed to by the individuals...

If I buy from Next they cant just pass my details to Matalan....

So PC nowadays, I'm sure anyone over 40 + years old will remember city fans often in home parts of away ground, Doncaster, Rotherham, Huddersfield, York etc was the norm

The police will be leaning on them. The fact the kick off time is 1pm is ridiculous anyhow.

Lol, it's not much different to playing Guiseley away pre season.

Should imagine police know city fans are going to watch football and nothing else. Save that for Stockport, Grimsby away etc if that's what makes your Saturday afternoon more fun for you.

We all know this, except for the police.

The police seem to think the Harrogate firm after their morning pimms are likely to provoke Bradford fans into trashing Bettys seeing tea and scones littering the floor the way they are going on about it.

You can use it if the reasons pass the threshold. If Bradford City do the checking they are not passing the data on, just advising Harrogate of those who have a buying history with us. That wouldn't break DPA or GDPR because no data is being passed other than the name of the person who has a buying history.
