Those were the days, bumping into City players in pubs and nightclubs.

I remember Seeing Don Hutchins quite a lot on the local pub scene, such a lovely bloke and always happy to chat with you

 

That 87/88 team were often out en Masse in places like Cloud Nine and Silks. Could explain why they had such a bond.

We also used to see sticks quite a bit sat in the Crown at Horton Bank Top nursing a half.

 

I assume there must be an error on the website or some tickets must have been taken off sale as there are no 'limited availability' blocks left. Hard to see how all of them have sold out when a lot of them had single seats left.

 

Perhaps they're just trying to spread the crowd out a bit more for crowd management purposes e.g turnstiles, stewarding, queueing, etc and therefore have taken those blocks which were the fullest off-sale with only 5 days to go.

 

Club just announced that blocks are selling out fast. That’s an absolute nonsense because when I looked this morning block J in Kop had around 200-300 seats available. Some were just single seats but not the website is saying unavailable.
I just don’t believe all those seats sold this morning.

 

Plenty of seats left in upper tiers of Main stand , NW corner and kop.
Lower tiers almost sold out.
Maybe the return of Cook and the 4 goals has sparked a last minute rush, its only a fiver after all.

They'll have just taken the odds seats off sale as nobody will miss them and make a few blocks sold out to make it look busier than it is to try and create more of a buzz to push the last few sales over the line

 

I would say around 16.5k
We had sold over 15k by end of last week and sales have been steady since then.

 

Who cares! What will be will be. We just need to win.

 

I`m reet looking forward to this game, not much to be excited about been a City fan the last few years, and i`ve got a feeling it will be a better atmosphere than usual due to us been the underdogs, hopefully we will all be getting behind the lads from the off. CTID

Fingers crossed Cook plays absolutely no part in the game. The last thing we need is him being over played and breaking down again.

I realise that means our chances of getting through would be extremely slim but for me it's just not worth the risk.

 

The only thing about us playing a modern style and formation is, we're kinda matching teams like Middlesbrough like-for-like... yet they have considerably better players than we do

Under Parky, we did something different. Not many defenders played against a lump like Hanson every weekend, nor did they defend balls coming down with snow on week in, week out.

I know we beat Hull last season, and gave Blackburn a decent game, but I'm not really sure what this City side offers that's out of the ordinary to an average Championship side. Pace? Power? Exceptional passing and movement?

Kinda not really on any single score.

Hope it's a fun one, but can see us getting beaten pretty comfortably in the end, especially without a fully fit Cook.

 

Couldnt make my mind up whether to go. Cheap tickets and good crowd, should be good atmosphere. But ball ache on a school night and chance we’ll rotate and get dumped out. In the end decided to play five-a-side instead. Not often over the years I’d miss a game like this but Hughes and our football under him is meh.

if we put together a run the enthusiasm may return.
