I know I'll possibly get stick for this but we never got near them, and that's not having a go at our team, Walker booked for a bit of something and nowt shirt pulling was as near as we got to being physical with Boro, they passed us to death tonight but we were left chasing shadows with some of their movement, on to Saturday and Walsall, got a few bob out of our little run and a couple of the lads got game time on their return.

I thought the gulf in class was frightening. I couldn't fault the effort tonight but the bottom line is they were a class apart.
They were a yard quicker and gave us a lesson in how to pass and move. Sometimes you just have to accept that your team isnt good enough.
We move onto a much more important game now.Bronco, bantamlad92, Ollylondonbantam and 7 others like this. -

Hovering around the play off places under Stapleton in what now is League 1.
Beating Premier League Norwich in the League Cup.
Beating Premier League Forest in the cup.
Richmond taking over and pumping in thousands for the 94-95 season to a team that Lennie Lawrence ruined and Kammy fine tuned to take us up to what is now the Championship.
I would give anything to have that excitement and level of football right now compared to the mundane dross of not scoring goals, no investment, tinpot teams like Harrogate and Forest Green.
I would give it all to be beating Premier League teams in the cup and fighting for promotion to the second tier.NorthernMonkey, vladimir, Craven Koppite and 6 others like this. -

OK, here goes.
When you are informed to 'select your seat', that means that you see what seats are available in the stand that you have chosen.
Select and pay. Now your seat is reserved FOR YOU. No one else!
Therefore if someone sits in that seat (which you have paid for), you are quite within your rights to ask them to move - to the one that they have paid for, not yours!
Or get a steward to ask.
Now...if when booking your ticket you are informed that it is 'unreserved seating' with no seat number etc shown, then of course
you sit anywhere.

We had the debate earlier in the season but I just can't get my head around people suggesting they're happy with watching that providing we sneak the win.
If, for example, Harrogate's goal is called offside and we win in the last minute, are people really going home happy? I just don't believe them because they'll absolutely know that we'll never accumulate enough points playing as we are so it's yet another wasted season.Bumblebee_Tuna, bailiff bridge bantam, ahar964 and 5 others like this. -

Thanks to the stewards in the lower kop tonight for allowing me to move my family, including pregnant daughter, into the Bantams Bar area due to fans constantly standing up in the lower kop all night.
The stewards were very helpful, credit where due -

I imagine our line up tonight heavily leaned into the thinking for the Walsall game.
Hopefully Cook, Pattison and Tulloch all start that, and since nobody seemed to take a knock, let's keep our fingers crossed.Allotment Bantam, Kevin1954, Citymatt and 5 others like this. -
I thought Boro are a really good side kept their shape and discipline. They passed us off the park with their accurate and crisp passing. If anything the score flattered us.
We didn’t really have a go but it sounds like that was the game plan. Hughes interview after the match was snappy when challenged about our players giving too much respect. My philosophy on cup games are don’t try then you will certainly lose to higher opposition. He said cup matches were not our priority and that maybe true. However, I think the Board wanted to have a crack. More money into the pot etc., I doubt they will be happy at his comments. -

If you can’t get a massive team, anything at home that generates a decent away following was the next best thing.

We don't have a huge lump up front who could have caused problems in the air from wild crosses. We don't have scintillating pace on the wings. What we have is a side that should be able to cause enough problems against enough League Two sides to be up there at the end of the season.
It's not "appalling management" at all.
It's no frills, nothing extra football. It's disappointing to be unable to compete in games like that, but it's not a disgrace.
On to Walsall.
Get Cook and Pattison back in there, Tulloch looks useful, get them playing together, Walker has been a threat lately. We should have enough on Saturday.Rogered Tart, Kevin1954, Inspector and 4 others like this. -

Boro were polished, all comfortable with the ball ( their keeper aside) and moved it quickly often looking like they'd an extra man.
I continue to enjoy Hallidays form, and again impressed with Tulloch's positiveness with the ball. He's raw as you'd expect but Im not going to knock the lad for that. -
I must be in the minority but I thought we played ok , Miles away from the dross earlier this season
