I selected our normal seats this morning no problem., however, I got the impression it was going to be unreserved seats with seats allocated randomly.

I've been abroad last week or so on holiday, so not being keeping fully up to date, maybe I've missed something?

 

The announcement from the club is poorly worded. It has confused people by suggesting that seats are unreserved. What they mean is your usual season ticket seat is not reserved for you personally. You still have to chose where you want to sit and when you get to the ground sit in the seat you have bought for this match. Unless the club put out a correction I think there will be some issues on the night.

 

You can only have one in your name. You'll need the second person added to your friends and family and then just select their name from the drop down box.

 

It’s unreserved seating folks. Unless you get there before the rest, you arent guaranteed ‘your’ seat even if you pick those seats on the order.

EDIT - the club have two versions of the story it seems so god only knows.

here is the other wording;

“Each ticket will be reserved to a seat, which must be occupied by the holder of the respective ticket for the duration of the match, though season ticket holders will be unable to guarantee their usual seats, which will not be reserved.”

 

I read that your seat is the number on your ticket but season ticket holders seats are up for grabs for anyone.

It is most definitely not unreserved seating. It is just poorly worded by City

the club need to make the details consistent across the website as they shouldn’t be having different (and ambiguous) wording.

reckon loads will turn up and sit wherever due to the mention of unreserved.

all they had to say was “you can select a seat to sit in but the option to reserve your own seat isn’t available - someone else could sit in your seat if they order their ticket before you etc…..”

 

4k tickets Boro have got. That’s pretty much whole of Midland Road, save a bit of segregation at the ends possibly?

 

If they changed it to this “Each ticket will have a seat number on it, though season ticket holders will be unable to guarantee their usual seats, which will not be reserved.” then it would make more sense. Sounds when a school child has to write a 1000 word essay and don't have anything else to say so add it words that aren't needed.
Doing unreserved seating would be chaos with people leaving odds seats between groups making it hard for people in a group of 3 or 4 arriving late to find somewhere to sit together. You'd probably end up with a situation like the Blackburn game with the lower JCT stand filling up then people who can't find a seat having to go up to the upper stand.

 

I sometimes wonder if folk actually bother to proof read their own statements to prevent this very thing. i had to read the statement back a few times before coming to my conclusion.

 

Even worse as they are selling the upper tier so there won't be anywhere to go. City need to make it clear that you sit in your purchased seat. I feel an email to Mr. Sparks will be required.

7 bought ! Moved to bottom tier of kop for this one, normally sit in top tier ! Love it when it's like this to try out different parts of the kop

Not sure if that includes away fans sales but impressive nonetheless

 

It normally does include away tickets but they went on sale at 3pm today to their first priority band so I don't think will have sold that many

 

Get that stadium filled, lads.

Get an atmosphere going, could be a cracking night.

 

Anyone with any sense I imagine might have come up with the same answer.
