Breaking it down we've paid a fee for 26yr old striker

who when you look.into it couldn't recently get into the bottom of the league team

 

Oteh and patrick were squad players at best patrick was'ent even starting for Wrexham at the end. This guys prob a slight upgrade on them. Can't see him starting 4th striker behind don shay and Novak. And after seeing doyle interview I'm glad he's gone.

For what it's worth, the view down here in Stevenage from some is that he's a mardy arse with a bit of an attitude and can't be arsed at times. Others will say they don't play to his strengths or haven't given him a good run of games and ultimately the club has been dire since middle of last season, right? So, it's a bit of a strikers graveyard.

He scores about 1 in 4 (boro and Colchester) and perhaps he needs a club that's got a bit more ambition to get something out of him? Key aspect, yes he's tall but he doesn't just stand in the 6 yard box waiting for headers so I'm a bit worried he won't fit into BowyerS way of playing, get frustrated, end up leaving on loan in the summer window. But who does play BowyerS way or even know what that is, eh?

 

Guthrie scored 16 last season in all competitions for Stevenage not a bad return he did alright at Colchester as well and some of their fans wanted to resign him.
Tall but not a target man good technically lazy according to some.

 

I'm not sure what technically lazy means?

Some would say he's not bad technically for a big lad.

What most round here point to is his attitude and how he gets visibly frustrated which gives the impression he's not a team player but as I said he's not had a great run this season.

A bit like us and Patrick, they can't believe we've paid a fee for him. Must be nominal.

 

Well we will soon be able to make our own mind up. I doubt Patrick will score 16/in a season

I don’t know the lad, but his stats are ok. Have you seen him play? Do you have intel to make an educated judgement on him?

I don’t, so I’ll reserve this until I’ve actually seen him play and would like to think other fans will do the same. If you do have all the intel about how this lad plays, his strengths and his weaknesses, and why you believe he should “sling his hook”, then I’d genuinely like to hear them?

 

Patrick had pace though. Just imagine if Connolly gets injured. We'll have no speed in the team just like last season! One area that Gary said he was going to improve this season.
