Vaughan having a few good touches and his link up play has been decent..... but he needs to sharpen up with his finishing. Had a few chances in this half but the keeper hasn’t had anything to do

 

Can he be forgiven since it's the first friendly of the season?

 

I’d like to think they will all get sharper as they play more games.

 

I doubt it some on here judge the players in games like this

Patrick not up to league football, that's been clear for awhile. Got a long contract on the back of one goal two years ago. Staunton still young, although I don't trust us with youth.

 

Two interesting things for me in the line ups. Probably more but somewhere to start with anyway!

Riley in at left back - thought he favoured right back but it's just a friendly.

Devine playing right back. Is he a right back then rather than a midfielder? Again, just a friendly but it stood out to me.

Not necessarily. I absolutely hated McMahon in his first season here and he was utter shite, yet he improved massively and I enjoyed watching him. If Anderson does the same then great, but today there was no difference in his display.

I agree but surely a professional should be saying "I want to play xxxx" if he wants to play right back fair enough but he seems to have become a right back. I don't know what his best position is or what position he wants to play.

He has 4 weeks to work with it and I'm sure he has his ideas but if those 3 are available I'm hoping it's a variable 2 from them 3 rather than one with scannel and mccarten wide or playing in behind
