I do not think anyone will disagree that our midfield is the main problem area. It has been all season and still wasn’t addressed in the latest window.

But regular batterings of late indicates the defence simply no longer understand their role. Anthony slipped yesterday, but he was also at fault for their 3rd goal, getting caught the wrong side of the player that flicked it on. The scorer reacting quicker than Paudie. These are good players, as you say, vindicated by their defensive record until recently. But the constant tinkering by Gary Bowyer makes it hard for players to understand their role

 

It's a normal formation.

?? Because they scored more goals? That's how it normally works....they had twice as many shots as us, that's normal service for whoever we play....

 

Exactly we had less possession than Cheltenham up to half time and we were leading

 

We didn't exactly play well against Cheltenham, although the effort and pressing game was much better.

We both set the tone in the opening seconds when we lumped it forward and their defender, under zero pressure, miskicked it we were able to force them back and pen them in as a result of continually poor play from their defenders.

Not knocking us, but that was a performance to improve on, not hold as a gold standard.

 

I agree, possession means nothing if you do nothing with the ball when you have it!! My issue is that we do not look like scoring whether we have the ball or without it!! 12 shots on target in 8 games says it all, Oldham had 9 or so just yesterday!!

 

They had 21 shots to our 11.

I wonder how far we have to go back before we doubled an opponent's shots tally? Is it even this season?

I'm off to the Grimsby game. Well I'm meeting up with friends before the game to go to the pub as we usually do. The Stevenage game is looking highly doubtful if Boreyer is still there.

 

That's another reason he should go,plenty of us could see we needed extra help in midfield,except the manager.
