Could also have been Jacob Hansen. I went to the Chairman's Launch event for Matter of Heart. Edin sat chatting at my table and said quite openly to me that Stuart should be playing Hansen at right back instead of Luke Hendrie, because we should be prioritising our young prospects, turning them into first teamers and selling them on to finance further young acquisitions.
I recall thinking at the time it was extraordinary that a Chairman would openly criticise his first team coach's selections in a casual conversation with an ordinary supporter.

Yes but not when our player is clearly not good enough. I mean I thought Hendrie was pretty poor, but he was still miles ahead of Hanson.

Unfortunatly that is not the first time I've heard similar comments with regards his opinion of how and when players should be playing, he really thought he knew football.

What made him think that his view of players was more accurate than Stuarts? Turning players into first team players is all fair enough, but no amount of training can turn a young player into a first team player unless there is natural talent.

 

I disagree.
I never saw enough of Hansen to form a view either way. But, after a slow start, Hendrie was starting to play well before he was forced out by Edin. He had a couple of solid games at right back and also came off the bench and protected the defence from CM very competently. He was a City fan, fully committed to the cause and was a very useful squad player in my view.

 

I agree. Also probably Hendries best game for us was at left back away at Wigan

 

I know there are a few who said losing Hendrie before the Yeovil game shouldn't have cause the disharmony it did, I would think that and the way it was handled and things that went before for some of the players it was the straw that broke the camels back.
