Grayson deal nearing close

They got their chance because the strength of the first team squad at the beginning of the season was pathetic. Something is amiss if ‘development squad’ players are thrust straight into the first team with actually being ‘developed’.

There are two different elements youth players who we bring through and the development squad is a vehicle where they can develop further. The development squad is for promising players mostly released from bigger clubs to come in train with good coaches and show their potential and if they are good enough move to the first team. This is how Robinson is here without it we wouldn’t have signed him.

 

I don’t think you are understanding Bronco’s point. They were signed for the ‘development’ squad yet we were throwing them in without them hardly playing in that development squad. Those players being thrown in should have been first team squad players. Case in point Walsall away. 3-0 up, a coupke of injuries and McCall has to throw on 2 ‘development’ players in Lachlan Barr and Dan Pybus, neither of who were any where near good enough for the first team and have been let go. We end up drawing 3-3 and could have easily lost the game.
Now i’m all for some sort of development squad but not at the expense of losing first team recruits, thats just a cop out.

 

He's the one that said Grayson was gone, reckons he got it from his son and the club will announce it imminently......hmmmmm

I fully understand his point as I said these are young pros that can be brought in at very little cost to be part of the development squad. If they prove good enough through good scouting they get their chance early. But without this he would have not been at the club.

I still don’t think you understand it, they were signed for the development squad yet were being thrown in to the first team. Robinson worked to an extent although he is still raw and has a lot learn, none of the others did. Had we have had a first team squad worthy of the name we would not have had to throw these lads in, the fact we did was nothing down to ‘development’ it was fown to the fact we had no one else due to penny pinching on the first team squad.

*Awaits a crap nearly man like Rosler or German Dog and Duck head coach*. Gutted really, he’s not done anything with the current crop but his CV outweighs any of the other suitors, can’t say I’m surprised though.
