Unfortunately the club can have his best interests at heart letting him sign for Everton, but you can't chain him down and when temptation was there unfortunately George went with the flow, but I'd still give the kid a chance as long as he passed all medical conditions that we require as a club.

I'm not sure we've had worst the past , wife beaters, post office robbers,assault, jail bird, fraudster, so this lad is a saint in comparison, get him signed up, 12 month contract step out of line the club rip his contract up, all down to you George.

My only reservation is, if we are working on a tight budget, we aren't really in a position to gamble. Good luck to him though.

Put clauses in his contract to let him know he starts to go back to old ways then he is gone.

 

Agree, but if it goes pear shaped we wouldn't be able to replace him until Jan. I'd rather get a proven player in.

 

Well if he is looking for a way back into professional football I'd say he would after knuckle down plus he wouldn't have the kind of money he had before so hopefully keeping certain influences away.

 

The lad is playing at Nuneaton for a reason. Himself. If he can't overcome that he will never play league 2 never mind the premiership. The lad has a talent, its about time he used it.

 

Top end of League One is a very high standard, and suits men not boys.

George Green has not proven his ability at this level, so wouldn't be worth being a high earner or big risk - he would actually be a perfect candidate for the bonus-style contract, with a buy out clause of about 1 million to further incentivise his performance.

But honestly, can't see this happening. We need upgrades on Law and Vincelot, and Grayson will look to bring in that level of ability. I don't see what a Nuneaton player offers us, other than a reputation based on what he was potentially capable of SIX years ago.

Plenty of players slip through the net. Very few make it back. Burnley gave him his second chance already. For me, he should be looking at clubs like Halifax and Tranmere and building his profile organically, proving himself way above that level, then looking to progress.

His agent is smart putting him on Calendar or whatever, but I've seen absolutely no level of consistency to suggest he's worth buying. The rhetoric of another chance us redundant. Just prove yourself. You are where you are for a reason.

Wow - £45k initial payment upfront and over £100k a year and never made a first team appearance - no wonder our younger English pro's don't give a shit about their performances.....
