A very good article in the Mail on Sunday today about George, talking about his mental health issues he has suffered since he was 17 years old, and how he finally sought professional help.
Apparently a few football league clubs are looking at him again after impressing at Nuneaton recently. George says that he is now ready mentally to step back up into full time football and still has a lot to offer.
Still only 22 and settled with a young family now, perhaps City could offer him another chance this summer. Potentially land a talented player cheaply?

Too many mentally feeble players in the squad already. Prefer to have a Gary Jones any day. Not the most gifted but has the sheer will and determination to more than make up for it.

I saw George Green in the same match at Guisley that Dieng won a contract in.
You could see The ability was there but whether it was just appearances or not he looked half cut.

So no one deserves a second chance, after suffering with mental health problems ?.

He won't have lost his ability to play, so no big deal, give him a short term contract he either knuckles down or is shown the door, his decision.

I remember a player, blew multiple chances with several clubs and was written off as a footballer. That is until George Mulhall gave him one more chance. Ended up scoring over 100 goals for City. Oh, and played for his country as well.

George Green definitely has the ability. Definitely worth a trial.

Not for me. Green does deserve another chance - look at what Coleman has done for Kee at Accrington. The problem for me is that, players with mental health issues need to be treated differently and certainly need to be playing games.

If Green was to sign, it’d likely be to go into the Dev Squad and prove himself all over again. Not good for the player to be sat in the stands waiting for his chance when first team players get picked regardless. Just look at Jordan Gibson as a prime example. Talented boy that keeps getting overlooked for the abysmal, inconsistent players like Patrick, Poleon and McCartan.

How would someone like Green behave in a similar situation..? If EFL clubs are genuinely interested in Green, hope he goes to one of them, they play him and he rebuilds his career that way

Stuart had him in trial a couple of years ago and he played in a friendly but decided against signing him.

Give the lad a chance, everyone deserves a second crack at the whip, he's probably better than what we have now, not that that would take a lot

Didn’t we give him second crack already? So it would be third time round

He was training with us a couple of seasons ago but on Burnley's books, I believe he was offered to us on loan and Stuart turned it down.
