    Aww bless you.
Bolton were 10 mins from relegation. Do you actually believe PP did something amazing in those last 10 mins or was it pure luck?

It's not luck after 46 games is it.

They were spades better in that last match, than they had been in the previous six. That's the point. PP is a manager, with the a ability to get a team up for an important match

And since when did we judge performences on 80 minutes?

I always thought we did that on 45 mins. After all that's all we managed at most in nearly all the games last year

If some on here don't think Parkinson had lady luck on his side in that last game against Forest then they are completely wrong. He's done well to keep them up but football is built on moments of good fortune and skill. Parkinson got the rub of the green and they stayed up. Burton didn't and they go down.

Burton didn't get the rub of the green? Preston had a man sent off.

If you can't beat 10 men in your cup final, when you have to win, you don't deserve to stay up.

They were staying with 3 minutes of the season left. 3 minutes away from getting th job done.

That's irrelevant. You said they didn't have any luck.

They did have luck. They were playing 10 men for half an hour.

Seems to be a lot of focus on 1 game. Bolton stayed up over 46 games. Burton were relegated over 46 games.

Its an horrible tag, but parky does seem to be a lucky manager. There were many fine lines during his time with us and like you say he/we ended up on the good side of it on so many occasions. If/buts and maybes but there are many many moments where Phils city career could have ended up so much different

It's ridiculous to call it luck. Please name his lucky moments v the ones where our drive and determination asked by him was the factor

The point I was making was that Bolton had been terrible, for ages, to such a degree their Chairman apologised. If that had been McCall there would have been little reaction. With Parky , 9 times out of 10 he gets one - that for me is the difference

I get what you are saying, I agree parky is ten times the manager mccall is/was.

What I'm was getting at was, gervinho doesn't miss the sitter, mchughs header hits the bar against port Vale, Exeter dont implode during the promotion season etc, little things like that. Fine lines where parky always fell the right side of whereas probably mccall could fall in a bucket of nipples and still end up sucking his thumb

Good or bad luck can apply to any manager at any club, from Parky to Mourino. It's not unique to football but it's part of it.
    If's and but's are superfluous.
