I'd say Sheridan is about realistic - also, very unproven or totally unproven managers are likely to be within our price and budget bracket.

Kewell has done well at Crawley, and has history of working with young players at Watford.

Stubbs built a good young team at Hibs and was cherry picked for the Rotherham job.

It's going to be someone in that mould. It's going to be a coach as his task is to improve every player!

What we need is a manager that will bring the fans together and play attacking football. Most that are paying for the cheap season tickets can afford the £169 or whatever it is but they want to be entertained, they want to see effort.

Grayson's football was just pain boring.

In terms of a person. I fully understand why you look at Grayson's CV for example and go he will put that house in order but the job was still too tough for him. The job was too tough for him because of the owners. Grayson is yesterday's news. Fish and Chip wrapper.

The owners talk about learning all the time but clearly don't want TELLING, so with that in mind we need a manager that will work with them. Experience managers like Grayson and I doubt Megson etc will work with them but they will TELL. We don't need TELLERS, we need ambitious managers with hunger that will get on with it and won't know any different.

It not a shock that Rangers hired Gerrard, Fleetwood hired Barton, Crawley hired Kewell, Notts County hired Nolan(got them in the play offs) and Newport hired Flynn... Good players that have connections, ambitious, winning mentality and don't know any different and will try to work with the owner or owners.

 

Let’s just see how those appointments pan out before we start lauding that they are the way forward.

If we want to be challenging for promotion then we must get Paul Hurst,he's done wonders at Shrewsbury.

I know we have no chance of getting him but he's the top up and coming manager.

 

He'll have much more attractive offers than us, even if Shrewsbury don't go up.

No, what I am saying is the likes of Mason & those close to the owners need to step up and try to get the owners to see sense.

The managers needs to work with the tools so to speak.

For me we need a young manager that will just get on with ththe job.

Sorry but at the current state this club can't take on a Grayson, Megson or experienced managers. No chance.

 

Robson, was easily our worst manager since I first started watching us in 79' and he's got some competition!!!

 

You live in a very simplistic world @Fordy117, I thought we offered Grayson a 2 year deal he turned us down not the reverse, what makes Megson a front runner all of a sudden.
