Feck this appointment - the only positive I can take from this is that Todd may lose the plot and end up putting a few of our slackers in a hospital bed!

 

December gave us false hope. The wins in truth were against woeful teams. No manager could have turned this season around, even Hopkin realised that in the end and gave up. Even if December hadn't been successful we wouldn't have brought anyone different, the club hasn't got a pot to piss in.

 

Good appointment for me now it's time to get behind him and the team. Good luck Gary you'll need it with these players for sure.

 

It seemed to convince Hopkin/the board to put all their eggs in one basket and make a big effort to keep Jack Payne.

On reflection the amount we are allegedly paying out in his wages would have been better directed elsewhere.

Bowyer has apparently arranged a behind closed doors game with Hudders tomorrow so that he can take a look at players that haven't been involved recently. Good on him.

Agree, there were other area's that needed looking at and signings made, but I have to be honest I thought keeping Payne was a necessity the way the lad was performing.

 

So same line up as against Portsmouth ???

 

One of those woeful teams beat us with 10 men last Saturday, we wouldn't have won those games playing as we are now. We went sadly backwards after our good run in December.

 

I agree he needs to have a look at the likes of Wright, Riley ETC and decide for himself who he can trust to do a job in the first team, its going to be an expensive exercise if the likes of Wright, Riely, Scannell, Jones, McCartan, Patrick, Reeves are not playing and sitting their contracts out.

 

Thats how bad we are Captain, it will go down in my top five defeats of watching City. Even in the home game against Walsall they missed a couple of sitters in the first half, one of them by the guy who got sent in the away game.

He's got a free hit really. We go down and everyone says it was inevitable, we stay up and he'll get a whacking salary increase and a good budget (in comparison to most league one teams) to have a good go next season.

If the likes of Riley, Wright and Patrick have owt about them they'll show up well this week because it looks like it's a fresh start.

Peterborough won't be easy but their recent results have been poor and we shouldn't be afraid of them although they're still fast and will.catch us on the counter if we're not careful.

 

Not sure about that.If by "different" window you mean we would of
recruited better,I very much doubt it.We haven't managed a good
window for ages.If we could of recruited better with a worse Dec,
then we've shot ourselves in the foot cos we needed it regardless!

Really pleased with this appointment. I do wish it had been a longer contract though

I get a good feeling that he will be a good fit for us, whether he manages the great escape or not this season
