The more money, Power and influence you have the more "justice" you receive, The system was designed that way

And on the flip side of a school didn’t suspend and then another 10 incidents occur involving your child/grand child etc you would be calling for the head to be sacked.

In my opinion it is rough justice that a person is suspended on an accusation not a charge

Without going in to too much detail, if the rumours are true, then it’s wholly appropriate that he should be suspended.

Lets just leave it at that, in respect of ‘details’. He has been suspended and not charged, so lets see what happens if the matter proceeds and more information is made available.

How long after arrest do they have to charge these days?
Looking at TV shows these days eg 24hrs in Police Custody they always imply it is 24hr cut off

That's the limit that someone can be held in custody without it being extended by the courts.

There isn't a cut-off as to when someone can be charged.

As long as it takes up to a yearvin some cases. They can only be held in custody for 24 hours unless granted an extension

That relates to the period of time someone can be detained in custody. They could be released and following further investigation, the CPS /Police having reviewed the evidence can consider whether there is a case and a reasonable prospect of conviction can then press charges. https://www.defence-barrister.co.uk/how-prosecution-decisions-are-made/

To be honest yes! Although if it was a single precipitating incident, then the amount of evidence/witnesses is likely to be fairly small. So they should make a decision in a short space of time.

If you go to this link and scroll down the right hand side, it suggests 14 weeks! http://open.justice.gov.uk/courts/criminal-cases/

Clearly there will be regional and local variations in the statistics. As I said before, the amount of evidence (and its nature) plus the number of witnesses who will have to give formal statements, can take time.

In many cases I agree, Park.
Granted, full pay is still awarded (in most cases) - But any stigma is now in place.
However - an accused is often named early - before trial, in fact. In many cases the accusations have found to have been fabricated, and yet the life of the named accused lies in tatters. It's not often the accuser is publicly 'punished'. And that goes for many a 'crime' which didn't take place.

I'm no 'Legal Eagle', but I suspect some are confusing hidden information in the Courts with those subject to the 'Freedom of Information Act' (50 years, I believe ?).
I'm not a great supporter of this 'act', although I do understand it's design. I don't subscribe to the notion that a few select people should decide what a nation does or doesn't know ........ That is not democracy, and it tends to favour the more prominent members of society, not the majority.

Happens in every walk of life though park and whilst the police investigate the crime, the employer usually trumps up something else to sack you for.

Chances are he will have been arrested, interviewed and bailed for something like 90 days whilst the police make further enquiries. If they aren’t complete by then or if they can’t charge/ nfa by then, he will be rebailed.

Bottom line is even if he isn’t charged, he’s unlikely to play for us again before Christmas. If he is charged and acquitted he could be out all season, if he’s convicted he’s finished.

Chances are it’s with pay. Otherwise we’d have the PFA crawling all over us.
