Sparky is a much needed breath of fresh air for this club. He has already galvanised the fans and players alike.

He comes across so calm, professional and friendly. Despite his glittering career, he seems to be thoroughly enjoying himself here, long may that continue

Its a dire league Kev! I wasnt impressed with FGR at Valley Parade either tbh! We’ve wasted a fantastic opportunity to go up this season.

    anyway, looking at the positives tonight;

    1) Pereira looked sharp despite his lack of minutes
    2) good to see Cook bag, albeit it was a tap in
    3) defence were solid under pressure
    4) bass looked assured today
    5) great to see players celebrating second with the fans
    6) hughes is up and running with his first win

    Cheers tonight, fellow Bantams!

Interesting that we didn't get the fabled immediate new manager bounce, and we've actually had to improve week-on-week to get the win - that's actually a better omen, IMHO, as it shows Hughes' coaching is making a real difference.

Instantly hitting form says nothing for the manager's tactics, and more about the players... but as we know, there was a huge amount of work to do with this lot, and looks like Hughes is getting it done.

Early days, but I'm impressed with the last two performances.

Agreed. Even if we'd somehow managed to bore our way to the playoffs and scrape into L1, would we really have wanted to continue watching Adams' prehistoric tactics and incessant negativity for longer? I certainly wouldn't.
Hughes is clearly intent on us playing decent football and hopefully his status will attract some better players so we can have a real go next year.

This game showed the real difference between what proper proper managers do with a couple of weeks coaching a new side, as opposed to the cynical Derek Adams draw at all cost approach. Hughes and Snodin have brought a real sense of footballing pride back into the players - you're good enough, now you just need to think harder and we'll show you a way to do that. Today's win was a joy = winning away at the runaway league leaders because the players believed in themselves because of the way the management team are moving them forward. Love it. So long since we've been able to celebrate a truly positive win.

People realising just how bad Derek Adams was for this football club. One can only look at his time here as being abject failure and puts to bed the myth that because you are successful elsewhere does not mean you will be here. Personally I never wanted him in the first place and wasnt thrilled when he was given the job. Thankfully he's gone now and we can try and move forward. Just a shame we wasted yet another season which means yet another season of league 2 football at least.

Both Cook and the City fans in attendance enjoyed his goal.

Agreed. That was never a tap in. He had to run like the clappers from his own half and slot the ball in at speed from an angle whilst being closed down.

I'm watching this game largely with a view to what it suggests for the longer term.

Again we've been better on the ball. The side clearly needs more quality, but there's clearly evidence of better coaching from Hughes than we saw from Adams.

Seen FGR twice this season and we were unlucky not to get all 6 points, they were defiantly fortunate at Valley Parade.

The short time Sparkie & Hodges have been at the club and the improvement we've seen I'd be hoping for a strong finish to get those who were questioning getting a season ticket back on board.
Still some difficult games ahead but they don't come any bigger than away to the run away league leader

If only Adams had been man enough to deal with the Canavan situation in a grown up way Songo'o might well be playing in midfield. The damage that idiot did to this club in his short tenure belies belief

The gulf between Adams and Hughes isn’t even worth debating. I don’t mind admitting even after 3 games it’s highlighted to me just how bad things were under Adams which I didn’t perhaps appreciate.

That said grounding moment - it’s only 3 games. Happy though the signs are so much more positive.

So pleased for Hughes and the players. They deserved much more last week against Swindon, so good character to go to the leaders, keep a clean sheet and score twice.

    Brilliant, well done
