That would be the Midland road side i take it?
I can remember supporters walking around that side to get into the Bradford End.
    Probably late 60's early 70's

I don’t ever remember a cost to go from Midland Rd to the Bradford end. From memory there was always a big iron gate blocking access?

This picture must be pretty old as in bottom right there used to be a hut that you could get a hot tea crisps etc and I thought any turnstile would be there but obviously not at the time this picture was taken.
paddock.jpg The little kiosk is here on this picture which was taken around August, 1983.
paddock 2.jpg with regards the bottom picture I was borrowed from John Dewhirst's book "Wool City Rivals" These photographs feature Valley Parade in the first half of the 1980s, before the disaster of 1985. The image below is of storm damage at Valley Parade in 1981, my bad.

That's where we used to walk round.

Alec Smith kicked the winger over the wall between the two wall banners.

Not even sure the winger got a free kick.

Dave - that bottom picture looks a lot older than 83 vintage. The state of the concrete on the Kop looks early 60’s.

I borrowed the black & White picture from John Dewhirsts' book "Wool City Rivals" where he quoted "These photographs feature Valley Parade in the first half of the 1980s, before the disaster of 1985. The image below is of storm damage at Valley Parade in 1981", my bad. great read for the younger fans of what great rivalry there was between the two Bradford Football Club, cracking read.

No there wasn't one at that side, i was just saying that i remember supporters walking around the pitchside on the Midland road side to the Bradford End.
I was assuming @SelbyFan@SelbyFan was talking about that.
Deffo in the mid 60's now i think about it as i was only a little sprog at that time.
I used to have to stand on bricks in the Midland road so's that i could see over the wall.

I remember all that concrete debris on the kop very well, particularly the bits that used to come flying at us from away fans, Rotherham being one that sticks in the memory. At one time away fans had the half of the kop next to Midland Road.

I remember that well. The away fans often threw pieces of concrete over the dividing fence and on to us. Even worse was when they threw the City pies! I also remember turning up for the game and both sides of our Kop was virtually full of Wednesday fans. Felt like an away game. Late 70’s.

Yes with a divider barrier between the two. The cafe kiosk was right at the top in no man’s land and the toilets were shared. You couldn’t make it up!

We all have our take on Geoffrey Richmond's time at Valley Parade but without doubt he dragged the club into the 21st century, I never thought I'd see us in a stadium that we now have.

I was thinking exactly the same Dave when I was looking at the old stand photo . “Climbed over there”, “ stood there”, xxxx stood there every game” . “Got my new white jeans covered in paddock brown ash there”.

One glaring error in this flag thing is how do you hold the cards up while holding a flag above your head? This could go terribly wrong.
