You wouldn’t stick that up your jumper at kick off!

Hopefully it will be brought out every home game just as the players are coming out of the tunnel. Awesome sight for the opponents to walk on to! Gulp!

I wonder if they got it from Dominion Print I believe the Wembley flag was produced by them.

How come we’ve got a flag of Jason Donovan?

Think it's fare to say when the players emerge from the tunnel they will be greeted with a cauldron of noise and colour.
Just hope it lives up to everyone's expectations.
The Valley Parade faithful need to make this an opening day to remember for all the right reasons.
Get behind every single player in Claret and Amber and no scapegoating.
Let's cheer the lads on to victory.

I think we’ve seen and that it’s been proven that the opposition actually relish it and perform at a higher level when greeted with a large crowd.
I’m not saying it’s a bad thing I just think when players for clubs like Newport and Harrogate walk at VP that they up their performance.
The pressure is off for them so to speak and all the expectation is on our lads.

It would make the hairs on anyone’s neck stand on end to walk out to a great crowd. Some fantastic times at VP and boy do I miss them.

and Smallwood needs to win the toss so Doncaster don't turn the teams around and City play to the Kop in the first half.

You being one of our older fans like myself can you remember if in the past we prefered playing to the Kop second half or the Bradford End.

Did they even have this change ends rule then / Wasn't the toss just for KO and away teams generally had the respect to go to the end that the home team didn't want ?

Maybe fading memory, but I'm sure we always played towards the kop in the second half.

Until the kop was redeveloped (post 1985), we preferred to attack the Bradford End in the second half.

Before the disaster it was ALWAYS kicking to the Bradford End second half, when we returned to VP it switched to kicking towards the Kop second half.

Thats a good question Dave, because a lot of fans used to change ends at half time,so City were always attacking an end with our fans in it.

I never paid to change ends.

We just walked around the wall on the crowd side. (The one I remember Alec Smith kicking the opposing winger over during the game!).

That’s right, there was a little turnstile at the corner of the paddock by the Kop and one at the top.Us tight arses used to all congregate on the end terracing at the side of the old main stand ( Kop End) for a sideways view of the action. Or jump the wall!

I’m sure Dave @Bronco@Bronco will remember that terrace that ran from front to back of the main stand?
