Quick cycle along the River Mersey after work.

Directly behind this tranquil scene were about 50 teenagers in canoes, thrashing the water to foam.

There's a lure fishing event on Salford Quays this summer. I'll hopefully get a nice picture of the mighty River Tay in Perth this weekend, your sunny mersey pic has inspired me.

Northumberland tomorrow to fish the North Sea. Drawn a blank the last couple of times, though.

Me and the boy are off on an piking ovenighter tomorrow seems his big sis is away on a sleepover. Not sure where yet, weather hardly ideal so it's more for a bit of fun than anything else. We'll probably bivvy up on one loch overnight, then if it is rubbish, take the lures and fish a couple of other lochs on foot the following day to see if we can find any fish. Achnasheen is a good area to access a few lochs in a smallish area close to the roads. Good luck CC. We're hoping to get some sea fishing in soon. Let us know how you get on.

Cheers. On my planner mate. Barbel are an amazing fish to catch and see on the bank. Really strong fish, seat of your pants stuff when you hook one, similar to a salmon but more dogged after the initial run.

I fish for barbel above the bridge at Tadcaster.

Best fishing around standing in the river Wharfe up to chest in the river long trotting a chubbier float.

    Love it

Had a few pike last weekend and then half a dozen more on weds on my way back from inverness. All on lures. Sadly i saw a pretty big dead pike in one loch and loads of disgarded line, i have since read posts that certain ghillies on certain systems think is good that pike are being killed and taken by some people. Set lines etc being used. Disappointing really.

Have you tried Newton Kyme day ticket water on the Wharfe @selbyFan@selbyFan ?

Rogie Falls. Love it @Hoochy-Min@Hoochy-Min . Go in sept/oct with a bit of water and you have a good chance of seeing salmon leaping there. Big pike in Loch Garve, midge hell though with all them trees.
