He's not a right back. Should only play there as a last resort.

When we're playing at home should we be pleased that we stop the opposition from playing?

You make it sound like we're scrapping for points in a relegation battle.

Totally agree Idle. Foulds has been growing into his game really well. His assist for Angol against Vale was class. Not sure Adams is so good at player psychology - the lad does nothing wrong and in fact plays at a strong consistent level throughout his recent spell and is immediately back on the bench. He really does like playing the younger ones!

He put Ridehalgh back in becuase he's arguably been our most consistent defender after Canavan.

Starting to agree Botswana - Adams is proving to be a very reactive manager, much more bothered about what the opposition might do than what we intend to do to dominate a game. Mind you, I'd suggest he spends an entire week with the lads on shooting practice. It's ok continually saying that we're 'creating' so many chances in every game. It's the bloody scoring we're all bothered about.

I know Derek Adams is a very thorough with his assessment of the opposition but I'd prefer him to use a formation that can win us games (especially at home) rather than stopping the opposition playing, maybe he will when we have Cook, Angol, Lavery, Robinson all available.

Yes but that has been Adams game over the years not much possession but more goal scoring chances but so far this season we have failed to put the many chances away. Yesterday we had no fit forwards other than Robinson so we didn’t have as many but probably still more than Northampton

As you say we had 3 on target and Northampton had just the one.

But is it right that we are setting up our team to counter the opposition when we're playing at home or should we be playing to our strengths (whatever they are)?

We were ineffective yesterday but our formation normally works - we create chances do we not? If it was last season then fair enough, a change can be justifed.

northampton have the best defence in the league statistically and were just tough to break down but there’s no need to change a set up that’s generally worked.

we need more conviction in front of goal but changing formation doesn’t change that.

at best, we need injured players back. At worst, we need to sign more quality.

I thought Foulds missed out as he picked up a knock in the non existent Exeter game.

He probably did I didn't know the circumstance. Personally I would pick Ridehalgh every time if available.

Been on loan at Blyth since last February, and having a storming season. Assuming he will come back to us in the summer and slot in as a direct replacement for JT??

It would be nice if he did. He did ok in his spell at right back but never really looked comfortable going forward and always liked like an o.o.p centre half.

He has the physical attributes though so it's not completely out of the question and it'd certainly be a help to the budget as I can't imagine that he's a high earner.

No chance. Out of contract in the summer and won't be offered a new deal.

You reckon? I think it’s a no brainer to offer him a deal personally. 2 seasons of being toughened up in non-league at spennymoor and then Blythe has clearly done him no harm

Never showed me anything to suggest he had it at this level.

I don't dispute that, I just don't think for a minute he will be offered a new deal.
