All these creative suggestions as to what to do are all very well but the club/authorities already have more than enough sanctions in their amoury to solve the issue. The fact that we have the same problems year after year is a reflection of their unwillingness to do anything about it.

Pathetic reminiscing for your lost youth. What japes!
That sort of behaviour is what made football fans social pariahs, herded around like cattle by police, and led to English football being banned from Europe.
It wasn't big and it wasn't clever then, and it isn't now.

Yes, I was at Belle Vue that day. Just as I had gone through the turnstiles, some, as you say, invaded the pitch, It was pathetic. If you fondly reminisce about such incidents from 4 decades ago, you are even more immature as I thought you were

Yet that was where all the schooligans were entering. But they fleeced old gimmers like Bronco and me at the nearer turnstile.
    Bizarre

One of the best atmospheres at a game for a very long time yesterday.

You know what. No Flares and No Pitch Invasion took place. Some who absolutely need to do that must have had a hell of a rotten time!

I'm not 'offended'. I'm just expressing my opinion that reminiscing about old football 'bovver' is irritating to me and a bit pathetic. You may not be glamourising those days but there are several on here who do.

I was going to football matches in the 70s and 80s too, albeit not in Bradford. I experienced the effects of hooliganism - being baton charged by police, herded around like cattle, jumped on by a bunch of Forest fans when I arrived late at Upton Park, etc etc. I hated all that shit then and have no desire to see it creep back in.

Why would I not read this thread? It's about young dickheads behaving in unacceptable ways that, if not nipped in the bud, have the potential to take us back to the bad old days. I've a strong opinion about this and I have no compunction about expressing it.

Imagine the scene, last game of the season, a late goal and the fans into a frenzy. FT whistle goes, chavs straight onto the pitch. Opposition goalie confronted, reacts to supporter and ends up smacked by Green Street wannabe (the likes of which are often seen on Manningham Lane post match). Points deducted, bottom tier closed.

These w4nkers won’t remember perimeter fencing at grounds which were put up for this exact reason because they’re not old enough. Wannabe hooligans. Pathetic

You can't even fart at a match now, what real harm is done by celebrating on edge of pitch. Half of you lot on here are what's wrong with modern football. The biggest crime is how football clubs are ripping you mugs off and how they show no loyalty at all to the club name.

    Why? zero tolerance
Standard WHU policy, three year ban, revocation of ST, and prevention of applying for ST waiting list for three years.

What's 'winging' when it's at home then? It's only through the hard work of people like Wetherby over the last 2 years that we haven't been hit by significant fines that the club can't afford.

The problem with oh yeah high spirits lets not bother is the precedent it sets. Later when a more sinister invasion takes place and action taken those affected can start saying well you did nothing when Bradford fans came on versus Carlisle. Zero tolerance is the only way forward on this.

Or start grabbing the fans doing it, chuck them out and ban them. It will soon stop.

Agree with @WilsdenBantam@WilsdenBantam here. Lifetime bans would be totally over the top, for a first time incident.

I understand the club has offered ‘face to face’ meetings, in my view if there is sincere and genuine acceptance that pitch incursion was wrong, then a formal warning could suffice.

A second offence lead to the ban for a season (or 12 months).

Repeat offenders could perhaps end up with bans which were over three or more seasons, with a further meeting offered, to clarify if they now accept that they cannot behave in such a manner, before a fresh ST being purchased, or general entrance to the stadium.

I believe that people can change, mature and become reasonable in their behaviour.

So a balanced and proportionate response would seem to be reasonable.

Not sure why you needed to reply to the clown, but in the 60 years I've been going, I can only remember a league cup game against our friends from Bermondsey when both sets of "fans" got onto the pitch, and the last game at The Boleyn against Man U, when AFTER the final whistle some got on the pitch (the rest were dismantling signs, seats etc).
Remember the concrete walls? easy enough to jump over though no one did.

Agree an enjoyable Saturday afternoon, the Swindon fans were backing their team vocally, loved the few minutes after they equilised when the Swindon fans started chanting "you only sing when your winning" to get a similar responce from the other 3 sides of the stadium when McCartan put us 2 - 1 up :joy:.
