We don't need fan ownership, just an owner/s who actually wants to own a football club, a CEO who isn't just here because the owner knows no one else and a manager with a policy off the back of the above of playing forward thinking entertaining football.

Start from the top and work down. We might, just might start to go forward than back.

no chance. people baulk at paying the average cost of a season ticket let alone forking out a few grand for a vote share in a 4th tier club with no idea where they're going.

    Bloody hell I agree.

Fan ownership could work. Raise the funds but like Park says you then need to find a few people that can head it to seek further investment.

How, Bradford City is run under Rhodes fan ownership isn't possible because we can all run the club how Rhodes is doing. It's really isn't hard.

Bradford City has a lot of rich followers so raising the money won't be an issue. It's the next stage of investment that might be tricky.

Didn't you say only recently that there is no money in football to earn a return? I happen to agree with that. To remind you, it was when I was asking you why you wouldn't invest in the club.

So why do you believe that it wouldn't be difficult raising money from some wealthy supporters who couldn't make a rerurn on their investment?

Well one of the use to be one direction
One of them can magic @Park bantam@Park bantam away and I don't mean @Dennis@Dennis ha

    I don't believe we would need 10m.

Raising the money won't be a problem. It's the next bit

can't see either of them wanting to get involved and they'd be just as distant as the current ownership.

I think Portsmouth were one after their admin issues.

Sure there is another one but they may not still be fan
    owned.

Yes, they is no money in football. I agree but currently this is lower league football and not everything is about ROI if brought in a group.

Look, I don't think getting the money together is the problem it's the continued funding you need to take it forward.

It's a non starter unless you can find heavy investment quickly. Salford City for example isn't 100% owned by the class of 92 they have a mega rich investment that owns about 51% of the club.

    It's a dream.

Yes Pompey were partially owned by a supporters trust for a while but the majority was mainly owned by a small group of wealthy shareholders. But when it came to the stick and lift of raising additional money to improve Fratton Park and to create a fighting fund to get promoted from Div 2, they could only do so by selling the club in its entirety to an American billionaire!

There are non league clubs like Wrexham and Rushden &Diamonds
but as Fordy says Portsmouth got out of jail with fan investment but
got proper owners.I don't think fans can run a club, hell we can't agree
on much apart from all wanting success.Agreement on how that could
    be achieved would cause meltdown!

Still hanging around! Not fan ownership as such but our Supporters Trust and Lee Power have jointly purchased the County Ground off the local council. I presume the Trust’s main interest here is to prevent any speculating and turning the Theatre of Screams into an Ikea.

Not sure how it will work going forward as the fabric of the ground needs major updating. There is still some suspicion regarding Power and his intentions - based mainly on his rather dodgy previous businesses. Personally, I think the recent investment in the playing side and the 50% purchase of the ground may be the first steps to his exit strategy.

The main benefit of club fan ownership is at least you can be sure that any monies generated by the club - ticket sales, TV money, sponsorship, player sales - stays within the club instead of mysteriously disappearing into a back pocket.

I genuinely couldn’t think of anything worse unless it was literally the only option between existing and non-existence.

Perfect timing; I was about to post this as a separate post, but it fits in perfectly with yours:

One area where I think fan ownership might (and I emphasise the might) work is taking ownership of the stadium.

This could help protect the future of the Football Club and allow a fair rent to be set to the Football Club.

However, even this isn't as straightforward as it seems, as it could influence ground development, potential relocation and how much the owners of the Football Club were prepared to invest.

Hang around as long as you want, we need cheering up. Notice the ginger Pele scored again, can you tell what its like to support a club with some sort of tangible plan to gaining promotion? Cos we're still looking.

Only one direction we are going at present is further down the league.

He was nowhere near that goal. Power is complaining to the EFL to stop him having to pay him his goal bonus!
