If you actually look at the stats, Cook is equal third top scorer in the division. I would argue that it is our midfield, who are failing to score, not Cook. Yes he could score more, but his return is pretty good.

We drew the game yesterday because the midfield was tired late in the game, if we want to play with intensity for 90 mins the we need to have the players on the bench to step in. Looking at the highlights, the sloppy play to lose possession in midfield for the Exeter goal cost us the game. We are creating chances, we just need to put them away but turning over possession as we tire will cost us.

Pleased to see Robinson score. If he can keep that up win a goal over 2/3 games then it would seem he and Cook will get over 10,15 maybe.

Also good that Vernam's odd demotion to the bench doesn't seem to have affected his form.

We need Cooke to come back with the same impact as Vernam and Sutton have done.

Also think Watt needs a break.

Songo'o and Canavan at the back maybe a good combo but it means we miss Songo'o as the key midfield person that he was assumedly brought in to be?

Just hope Angol doesn't re-injure himself.

Poor attendance even for 1st round FAC and the appalling weather
Mr Adams 10k was a tad optimistic, will get more in the quarter finals ;););)

Looking at the stats, Cook has the 3rd worst goals per minute return, joint 2nd worst per 90 minutes and joint worst conversion rate. Don’t get me wrong, he’s the best striker we’ve got but we need him to be more clinical when the chances come along. We definitely need better and need the midfield to step up. Gilliead and Cooke should have a lot more than they have given the number of games they’ve started.

I realise we might be too late to the party for this player but the lads Waters at Halifax looks a decent player. Seen a fair bit of him and look to have potential. Very good scoring record this season.

Agree on Cook. He is our best striker but he wastes two or three great chances most games before scoring.

We are banking on Angol improving our scoring rate but he’s never been prolific during his career.

It’s clear Adams is the right man though. The managers job in this case (ie he only had one window and needed to get to know the players after arriving) was the mould them into a better side and improve our creative output as the numbers weren’t good under T&S.

we’ve done this now and are one of the most creative teams in the division. Time and time again we don’t take our chances but that’s not directly Adams’ fault. His counter style he’s implemented is creating chances but it’s the players’ responsibility to stick it in the net from six yards out.

Adams’ job is now to convince Sparks and Rupp to release more funds to strengthen. There is a prime opportunity to go up this season by adding quality in January. If we let it pass us by many fans will give up next summer.

Didn't go yesterday so relying on the comments on here. In general it seems we actually played quite well against a team unbeaten in their last 15 games.

Just seen the BBC highlights and Suttons volley was a peach and we are a matter of a few inches from going 2 up.

THAT pass from Vernam to Robinson and the cool composure has to make that goal a contender for goal of the month surely.

The defending for their goal was pretty poor though.

Did somebody mention Paudie might be injured?

Could be a good shout that. Halifax have a knack of finding ‘em. Vardy and Gregory etc.

Good luck to him trying to persuade Mr Rupp to release funds I think that ship has already sailed
His reputation is getting teams promoted with little or no budget (that's why Mr Sparks went all out to get him)
time to prove that reputation with us
Mr Sparks also stated in his season ticket campaign "anything less than promotion is failure"
All strikers waste 2 or 3 chances before finding the net Cook isn't the exception
I fear Angol who has a history of injuries won't be in the team long before his next, but on the plus side I like the look of Robinson and maybe Vernam alongside him, our biggest problems at the moment are the lack of goals from midfield, the inability to keep clean sheets and achieving 90 minutes full fitness/concentration

We had far better chances that they showed on them highlights, Threlkeld missed two sitters from 4 yards out and Watt and Vernam forced very good saves out of their keeper although he was under worked for the chances we had not for the first time this season. Robinson also hit the bar. I know it’s not the in thing to praise a performance on here unless we win 3-0 but it was a very good performance, just didn’t translate into a good result unfortunately, that was our own fault at least the ref didn’t play centre stage like last week.

Angol won’t stay fit rest of the season, no. I think we’ll be lucky to get more than six goals out of him from here.

When we brought in Wyke in January we had the advantage of being a L1 club dipping into L2. The problem we have now is if we dip into NL, a lot of those sides now have bigger budgets than us - the likes of Mullin at Wrexham and Tshinmanga (sic) at Chesterfield. Not that either of those would be realistic targets now.

it’s gonna be tough for Adams. Is there someone out of favour up the pyramid we can target or are we gonna chance a younger loan striker.

we haven’t made it easy for ourselves and it might go down to the last few games of the season whether we get into the top seven.

I’d have took the draw of it was in the league before the game, they are on a good run and a good side and will be up there.

However for me it’s the repeat performance again that’s the worry. On top, don’t make it pay and let in a soft equaliser. Is it a mental issue or a fitness issue?
