The primary fact is that Exeter City broke the rules of the competition. Simple, straightforward.

Outcome. Exeter City have no penalty imposed on them in person, indeed they will benefit as they will get extra income from hosting an additional match.

The debate on here is passionate and largely well informed. To suggest it is ‘toxic’, in my opinion is attempting to divert attention from the culprits in this matter.

Bradford City are totally innocent, yet have to endure a lengthy trip to the South West mid week at the start of Winter.

We regularly have supporters from other clubs visit our site (we had some from Port Vale if you read the thread. We have a bit of banter, but there is no ‘toxicity’.

Quite frankly l have nothing against Exeter City or it’s supporters. To try and create tensions is not helpful.

As everyone who got a ticket to the first game is getting in free it will mean little or no income from the second match so all the expenses will have to come from the gate of the first match. So as a club we are being financially punished as our income from the match will be reduced as two lots of travel etc will have to come out of it

Only the Bradford City fans who went to the first replay get in for free. Exeter fans and additional Bradford fans have to pay.

Fair enough. Can not see how that is fair on the Exeter fans unless City are covering the costs?

Do you think Bradford City would agree to let everyone in for free? That is without the costs for travelling and the cost of running the match.

You are correct. However Bradford City will want to make some money out of this. Would anyone travel 300 miles to work and not expect to get paid.

This is the e-mail that I've just received from the club (Exeter)

"The club and Supporters’ Trust have been working to explore the best options for ticket sales following the decision from the FA to replay our match versus Bradford City on Tuesday November 30.

Tickets for the game are now on sale.

Under the rules of the competition, we are required to share the profit after costs from this match with Bradford City. Costs include the facilitation of the match, such as away travel, stewarding and floodlights.

The club will incur additional overheads, such as the cost of staff, including the grounds team, media team, light and heat, and cleaning, which do not form part of this return.

Whilst we appreciate that some supporters may feel frustrated paying for another game, we hope you understand that facilitating this game costs many thousands of pounds.

The club has therefore decided that in order to align with our ethos and ownership model we have made the following commitment:

    1. The Bradford City fans that purchased a ticket for Tuesday’s match will be able to claim free entry to the game to be played on 30 November.
    2. We will donate our share of profit under competition rules to charity. The selected charity will be announced next week.
Please note we will not be preparing a programme for the fixture on 30 November.

Whilst we will never be able to satisfy the opinions of all supporters, we have made reached this conclusion in order to attempt to be fair and transparent on this difficult decision around a unique scenario".

Because a lot of pay on the gate equals no proof of purchase

Silver lining for you guys i guess, at least you will double your gate receipts profit. what a fecking mess.

Well the cost is roughly £1000 so no big deal. And to be honest I bet only around half of the original 76 will bother claiming the free ticket.

Would be nice if those fans were given free travel too, as that is the biggest burden of all this.

    Exeter's motto. SEMPER FIDELIS:
Now I didn't do Latin at school, nobody in our local comprehensive did, but I am going to make a guess at: 'Simple Feckers'
based on the fact they can't count beyond 5
