HAD City gone in for Oztumer last Summer - This thread would not exist.
Blackburn had a plan and funded it. City have a plan, but can not or won't fund it.

I appreciate that .............. But the fact City only gave him a 'passing glance' says it all.
From my sources at the time - City looked, but made NO attempt. That's all I'm saying.

They are funding the plan just not your version of it

 

How do you know Walsalls wage structure ?? People from other clubs keep assuming we are big hitters in this league and pay big wages which is also a myth. Walsall may well pay him more than we can you simply do not know this

 

If we clutching at straws then maybe, although I seriously doubt a player with the class of Oztumer declined a contract at Walsall to hold onto his dream move to Scunthorpe. Only way i can see him choosing to stay in this division out of choice is if Sunderland came in for him and payed him 10k+ a week. That way he'd almost be guaranteed a promotion on his CV and will only have to wait one season before he gets to prove himself at a higher level. Anything else comes under "highly unlikely".

Sorry to intervene ........... Walsall over spent last season - expecting the PO's ......... As we know, it went Belly up, and are now implementing cost cutting measures, mainly a 20% cut in the wage budget. They are also desperate for a local Businessman to come onboard, but is thought to be reluctant to 'fund' the club directly.
Walsall don't want to lose their best players, but will risk it at a price, if it means another season in League 1.

Can't knock the ambition in trying to sign players like this I just view it that it's got a very small chance of coming off. As long as we're not letting other targets slip away during the chase them there's no harm in trying but don't get your hopes up otherwise it becomes a stick to beat the club with.

 

They may do but I haven't a clue about Walsalls finances and neither do any of us. Ronnie may think he does but out of everyone on here I'd rather not believe someone who is quite clearly off his tits

 

And in the same vein we don't know what our finances are. We guess a lot but bottom line we don't really know...do we?

 

I'm still awaiting confirmation of this (A one year clause ?), but it's more to do with wages - which is why I suspect, City will be left standing.

Maybe this year we are putting in transfer fees into wages or signing on inducements
