No one can say with any certainty what may happen if Doyle was to return but I would take take a lot of convincing that unless we changed our style he will struggle like Vaughan is doing now
We could either demand a recall to severely dent Swindons attacking options and play him up front with Vaughan as Ingram & Gilliver ( you will remember them am sure) or just have him as a high earning bench warmer Whatever happens we NEED to change our style of play Not sure he wasn't the best player in the league when we loaned him out the role he was being asked to play a full back would have produced exactly the same results
As you say it's all about opinions but opinions don't give you performances on the pitch or points in the bag It should be very interesting to see what happens come 1st of Jan I forget his name but the Swindon manager gets the best out of Doyle not sure GB is capable of doing that with him or Vaughan

Two poor examples @Fordy117@Fordy117 Leeds & Ipswich, Leeds have spent Multi millions on their squad a tea that have been there abouts for the last two seasons, and Ipswich have added quality to a team that were relegated, of course targets are set but I would think with where we were last season most people involved would accept promotion no matter who we get it, I've certainly not seen quotes from within the club that say we need to get up by the auto's, once again Fordy talk.

Not interested in Swindon's expectations, I support Bradford City.

Once again a load of waffle "If fans just accept rubbish then they will get rubbish" I don't know where you get that which Bradford City fans have quoted they will accept rubbish, you make stuff up as you go.

Then after telling us you will accept nothing but promotion through the auto's you say "Yes, if the second prize is going up in the play off's the we will take it" we would all love to win the league and we are capable of doing just that but sorry Fordy promotion is the clubs aim, if we achieve it through the auto's great if we have to go through the play offs I'll take that as any right minded Bradford City fan would.

I don’t just expect promotion this season, I expect the chance of a double promotion.
We were a *@?$ hair away from the championship in 2015-16 and I want us to be back in a similar position

It's certainly never straight forward supporting Bradford City, I'm sure it's been spoken about in the corridors of power at Valley Parade and hopefully the club make the correct call.
Yes I remember the Ingram/Gilliver days very well, Gilly was at that event I went to on Friday with regards supporting dementia, he's not too good on his feet but during his time at City he gave us some good memories.

    You really have no standards!

The club won't come out and say we need to finish in the automatic places but Mr Rupp is no fool and he will demand it.

You've lost your drive for the club. It's just a club now for you. Gone! Retired!

I use Leeds and Ipswich as nothing to do with how rich they're but how you look at a league and place yourself.

I use Swindon as an example as they sit top and now will be look for automatic spots.

I see Bradford City as a big club in div 2 and I find the league dreadful. I don't want us to finish 7 and I believe we can and should be finishing in the top 3.

Get some standards! Have some ambition for your club! Hope your mate Mason has more ambition and drive for Yorkshire than you do for Bradford City or we might as well all pack up and move to Plymouth with Park.

Now that might be a little tricky, but maybe with positive thinking we could make it happen.

Yes Tweedledum & Tweedledee have certainly taken our club backwards, from an established League One team twice fighting for a Championship place to also ran's in League Two.

No BS! You've gone! No drive, no ambition for the club. Just ticking!

We get 14k fans, just come down from div 1, one of the biggest clubs in the division, hired a manager for promotion that has experience in going down and getting a team straight back up, got div 1 players on loan, have an owner worth 150m, currently in the top 7 playing utter rubbish for most of the season and you still target just promotion by any which way? Set targets, aims! Sure the club has that goal of automatic promotion.

As for advertising boards.. no good ROI in it plus it's not digital. We can't even get modern on that.

Don't worry about me, my businesses and money. All fine.. I have drive and ambition in everything I do. I don't watch Bradford City thinking it just fills my time in life..

    Ok, now back to Doyle!

You can lead the line without the need to be used as a battering ram. Bowyer needs to wake up and see that we are wasting the talent of another good striker on our books. People get hung up on needing a target man. They have been left behind 20 years ago. How many teams now play without a target man. Must be 90%. We are just the unlucky ones who have a manager who still plays percentage football. Look at the team at the top of the table. Two lads no bigger than 5"10. Don't see Doyle getting long balls pumped to him. They play through the lines and slide him in with through balls or low crosses. Be interested to see his assist stats as well. Doesn't seem to be involved in the play at all when you see the highlights. Just because Vaughan is a physical striker doesn't mean he should be used the way he is. Bowyer not getting the best out of another talented player.

I like Vaughan and Donaldson as a combination, but give me Ingram and Gilliver any day. Gerry Ingram was the best player I have seen for getting in front of defenders at dead ball positions and scoring with near post headers.

Different ball game altogether these days A64
Oh for hard men like Bruce Stowell and Tony Leighton to bolster our defence
John Hall to put the ball into the box for Vaughan and Bruce Bannister to knock in the loose balls
Being greedy add Charlie Rackstraw for the never to be missed penalties
No characters like those in our team today too bothered about social media and hairstyles

Happy days ! Think most of those players would walk into the current side including Tom Hallett and Barry Swallow at the middle of the defence.
