I personally, would recall and hope he's worth the hit. But given the club are still recovering from the Rahic period of cash pissing out the place, I wouldn't be surprised if we took a fee that covered Doyle's remaining wage.

Big problem is, with 6 months left on his deal and no other team able to play him, the fee we can realistically expect of them is naff, when you compare that fee to the goals he's scored. Unfortunately, this isn't the top leagues and business is mainly done on contracts worth when they have months left, not form and not at his age. With him starting next season at 32, it's not like a club see's him as an investment.

Lets say it's an even split, £2,500 each. From Jan 1st, 26 weeks of wages is £65,000 that they have agreed to cover in the current loan. They know if City recall or re-negotiate, they can turn around and say no thanks, leaving City with £130,000 to raise. Our squad players wont leave for that amount given most of the more "dead wood" types are out of contract in June too, whilst the Anderson's of the world aren't exactly on form to attract a new club. Leaving it to Rupp to inject that money from his back pocket, or next seasons budget.

Swindon, for that kind of money they save, they can find another forward. Not only that, they have a striker already who is 2nd top scorer playing left wing so far this season. They can easily move him to his natural spot, and he knows the way the team works. Yates has 8 goals from 24 shots this season. Doyle with 17 in 47 shots. Very similar ratio already, whilst playing on the wing.

The most they would realistically pay is the £130,000 left on his deal. With no other club able to use him, with them not sounding like they could even raise that kind of money without going into the year afters budgets, and with him leaving on a free in June if we don't look for a deal with Swindon, this really all boils down to a business decision for Rupp.

That’s a pretty good summing up. We aren’t as skint as we pretend to be, but dipping into next season’s budget is likely. I presume that would mean Wellens sees Doyle as good enough for L1 if we do go up.

Bit of a gamble for us, though. If we don’t go up we’re in your position now - in L2 with a very high earner.

If we sell Doyle, we're going to look like the biggest set of mugs ever to be let into the party.

We deserve to be the league 2 tin pot outfit that we are.

Forget the money the club will look stupid and desperate and it will back my thoughts that under Mr Rupp this club is going nowhere! Admin will be on it's it's why and he is an awful owner!

Look, Swindon are laughing at us and so is the whole footballing world. He has scored over 50% of their goals and @Swindon@Swindon comes on here laughing.

It's a joke we're even talking about this. He has to stay even if it means slowing Swindon down.

Does this club want to go back up or not?

This £100k business for Doyle is nothing new, it was mooted weeks ago. Should we believe a permanent move is in the offing to transfer Doyle which I for one don't disagree with. For me by freeing up his wages coupled with the additional funds would allow GB to sign hopefully a younger replacement striker (my guess he has already lined one up) to add to the main strike force of Vaughan and a fit again Clayton Donaldson in January.

I take the view bearing in mind Doyle has only six months left on his current contract it is a win win situation for both Bradford City & Swindon Town.:)

Be fair. I’ve not come on here gloating or taking the p!ss. It’s a strange situation for both clubs. Nobody is laughing about it.

If he returns to you, fair enough. I’ll not be stomping me feet.

Don't worry mate - nobody thinks you're taking the mick apart from Fordy ( and there are a lot who take his posts with a large dose of salt). That said, I'm definitely in the 'bring Doyle back' camp

Additional funds on what evidence to send on players? Where is the McBurnie money?

I'll bet there hasn't been a situation like this one before where a loan player has completely ripped it up at another club. Depends who blinks first at the poker table i guess.

Only Bradford Charity City would consider selling the leading goalscorer in the country on loan to a rival.

Thought Swindon had no money ha ha ha bollocks!

Don't we hold the cards though, if there is a recall? Bring him back just to sit on the bench, ruin Swindon's efforts!! Imagine they get promoted because of his goals and we don't!! We're basically paying them to get promoted!!

In a way we do, but i think we're in a predicament with our loan signings, Doyle leaving allowed us to bring 2 or 3 players in. My take is Swindon will give offer us a token gesture to sign him permanently and we will probably accept.

The fact that its even a debate sums it up for me. We're in League 2. Battling to get out, but struggling for goals. We have an opportunity to recall the highest scoring striker in the land, who we're paying to score goals for a promotion rival. And our finances may apparently dictate that we can't.

Forget ticket pricing - that lack of ambition, both in footballing and financial terms is a stark reminder of the ceiling that exists for us. It'd be a genuinely tough decision for me as to whether to renew my ST even if we end up in League 1. We have no real ambition or plan to take this club forward. Not really. And I have no interest in watching more plodding, soul destroying League 2 football next season. I have better things to do with my time to be honest.

We can dress up our 'heritage' and 'what it means to be a bantam'. But we're just a floater, circling the toilet bowl of lower league football. We'll never be anything more.

Doyle joining Swindon, and what that stands for, is a rubber stamp of how irrelevant we truly are.

One of the first times I think I've honestly disagreed with you FB. Surely it would be even worse to let Doyle go for a free at the end of the season?

I've said it before. Doyle won't want to come back and thus Imo, he won't. Player power will prevail and a deal to 'suit' all parties will be brokered.

Invest the funds generated into new signings?

Like who? Where are these £100k players that will get us 17 goals in 3 months?

get real. We’ll look second rate and be a laughing stock if we sell Doyle. Any other club would get him back.

If our budget doesn’t stretch to paying Doyle for 6 months it doesn’t stretch to promotion. Simple as that.
