Twilight of his career at the age of 31? What does that make Donaldson then?

Until his illness at Oldham he was flying. That was less than 2yrs ago. He even finished that season well at Oldham. He signed for us and has never been played correctly, making him look poor - I’m just not convinced he’s as poor as some are making out

 

He will be fine at Swindon and score a few now he is free of GBs daft formations

He has gone might as well move on now. However, I hope replacement striker in next week, and at least two good midfielders. If they don’t arrive, I will assume we are content with what we have. My own view is that would not be a risk worth taking.

 

He started every match because the alternatives to play the no. 10 role are all garbage or unsuited to it.

McCartan naturally slots in perfectly. Let’s hope he’s fit.

 

But come on, he was shocking at Grimsby. Couldn't control it, couldn't pass it to a team mate 10 yards away. That's not being in the wrong position, that's inept!

I guess this is my point as to how much some we’re swayed by media on both occasions. He didn’t impress on his first year but in his defence I think there were many circumstances impacting that. He’s got another chance, let’s hope he takes it.

 

Who's next now Doyle has gone? Some of you need someone else to blame for the collective team, so who's it going to be.
I feel for Doyle. Never played correctly from day one. Historically his goals always game playing with a partner. Never happened here. He's never played a no10 role in his career. Played that role here.
I hope he bangs in 20 goals for Swindon and I wish him all the best.

 

It's OK you'll have forgotten all about him this time next week I know it may hurt at the moment but you'll survive.

I'm not sure that's entirely correct. I think I was one of quite a few who said they weren't convinced McCarten wanted to be here. Not the same as slating him and wanting him away.

 

You are right we should blame the hole pile of crap from last season, that got paid handsomely every week which us fans contributed to through buying tickets and merchandise, not just one piece of crap which Doyle is. Oh yeah I feel so bad for him my hearts in agony here.

The amount of apologists on here telling us he's played out of position etc..
Yes, players have favoured positions, however if asked to do a slightly different role. It doesn't mean stroll around, and look like you've just been plucked from the dog and gun b team

 

Quite a few of last seasons utter shite to have a go at, I'll get round them all, all season to go.
