I don't know many strikers who could score in our width/paced starved team

Out of interest do Swindon play with 2 strikers?

No. End of last season they stuck to a 4-3-3 with Theo Robinson up top on his own, but supported by Kaiyne Woolery/Kyle Bennett and Keshi Anderson/Marc Richards.

This season they started with 4-4-1-1 and in their last 2 games reverted to 4-2-3-1.

I have brought my mop and bucket to mop up the tears, being female I know my place.

Doyle has not been good enough for our Team, that is the bottom line, no amount of excuses will alter that fact. We needed him last season and this season to be the striker we thought we had bought but he wasn’t. The double edged sword of paying a high price for a player it means that if he doesn’t perform he will go to release funds for players who we do need.

Back to my kitchen again, let me know if there is more crying requiring mopping up.

We must have a replacement lined up, to allow him to leave today, surely?. Not bothered he has gone, however, he was the only cover for Vaughan and Donaldson, apart from Patrick.

But people slated him and wanted him away before players returned to training. How have things changed for them between then and now?

I doubt the club would have let him go if we didn’t have a replacement lined up. However, we need a couple of decent midfielders. We are still paying the price of the Rahic adventure with the club’s credit card.

I presume we wont allow him to play for Swindon against us?.

Also, I wonder if we have a January recall clause, if he bangs in 15 goals before Christmas?

I suspect both of those clauses, and more especially if we are still paying part of his wages.

When does his contract expire? I see it extremely unlikely he’ll ever be returning to City, certainly not if his contract is up at the end of this season.

Don't worry he won't bang in 15 goals before Christmas.

If he has that clause, we won’t have chance to use it. Don’t worry

My honest view, is that he was ‘burnt out’. He is unable to do the things he did in the past. He is in the twilight of his career, his former strengths did not work with the recent and current crop of City players, and that he had lost that drive and sense of purpose, that make a good striker.

Whilst at Lincoln Mcartan came in for a lot of flack after comments he made about us in the media, with most assuming that he just didn't want to be here. This resulted in quite an emotional reaction from our fans but since then he's talked about how he loves his time here, sees a completely different club now etc etc which has helped build the relationship back.
