    Similar with me and I wonder if the peculiar reaction to my comments, is simply that fan rivalry has seemed to grow more toxic as newer generations join

    I wish I was that confident. We only have one fit CB at the moment and he's barely played all season. It'll be a tough game with or without Doyle.

    I am a fan who doesnt believe we deserve to be Champions just because we are supposedly the biggest club in this league.

    We have to earn the right to be Champions.

    If I hired a material that was benefiting my business, gave me a 750k-1m ROI and I knew i could buy it in 6 months then I wouldn't be messing about and I would put a decent offer in month 5.

    Going back to Doyle you do know that Swindon used the poor card to get him in the first place?

    We are in DIVISION TWO, playing DIVISION TWO football with DIVISION TWO players!!!! Climb down off your high horse and understand that we are doing very well so far this season and looking towards a top of the table finish. Who in all honesty is going to stand in our way..... CREWE? Haha Forest Green? Haha WAKE UP!

    Make no mistake i hope they lose every week being the nearest club to us, but the only real time i can remember a rivalry was in the 80s when we got to play them a few times. When we played them in the league cup it made me realise how much a rivalry can mean to fans, the atmosphere that nights matches anything i can remember at Valley Parade. And to be fair i think the 'dislike' for Leeds in the 80s was far stronger than it is now.

    It's the fans that bother me more than the team. People in the pub screaming in my face when they score or City concede when they haven't been to Elland Road for over 10 years. I'll talk Leeds with any proper Leeds fan but these ones that don't go and are constantly beating their chests like nobs are the ones who get my goat. The old excuse it's too expensive to go but they drink and gamble their way through the week quite happily :joy:

    So you agree Swindon got the best deal they could for Swindon.


    That is your opinion not fact, we wanted part of his wages off our books, Swindon were happy to take the offer up, if they negotiated they paid less than what we wanted fair play to Swindon, shows how desperate we were to get part of his wages off our books and to give Bowyer money for other positions.
    No I don't think Julian is a mug, I'm delighted he's taken on the Interim Chief Executive Officer job and believe he is doing his best for our club.

    It's not a opinion. Swindon played the poor card to get him at the deal they did. Rhodes won't be fooled again so if Swindon want Doyle they would have to play big money. Even if they didn't then Swindon would still have to pay big money.

    If you don't think Swindon didn't play the poor card then I am amazed they're not offering big money to take Doyle.

    Look for me we just need to recall him and get it announced so we can all move on. We've a big game on Saturday that we could do with winning.

    If you're not privy to the details of the Doyle deal going to Swindon of course it's only your opinion.

    I'm not disagreeing with your "we should recall him" although other options have been posted that are possibilities, which Bowyer commented on in yesterday's T&A he was meeting with Julian.
    Will we hear something today let's hope so.

    The thing a lot of people are missing is that Doyle is not a piece of ‘machinery’ which you unbolt from location one and transfer it to location two and given the same level of support,maintenance and materials it works exactly the same.

    Doyle is a person with emotions, feelings and an ability to learn. A machine does not need to feel wanted, whereas a person does. If you are ‘loved’ somewhere and some one wrenches you from that environment, then you may well feel resentment (at best) to those who forced you away from an idyllic situation.

    So given that Doyle would be returning to a club, at which he very recently was part of a failing team, which has a different style of play, then there is a huge possibility that he may not replicate the ‘free scoring’ form he has demonstrated at Swindon. Remember he played three games for us this earlier season and scored zero goals, prior to his move to Swindon.
