Read my post again. It might cost them nothing to sign him early if Swindon are keen enough to cough up enough to cover a half season loan. They'll be pretty keen to keep him.

What about we ask for a loan fee? And Swindon pay all his wages? Then doyle could still be a free agent at end of season if he wants that, just another thought

Then if that’s the case, a permanent move to Swindon is never going to happen.
We might as well recall him and let him look for a league 1 North West club in the summer as a free agent.
    Tranmere, Rochdale, fleetwood, Blackpool, Accrington
    Or in League 2
    Bolton, Crewe, Salford

long list of choices for him but like I say, if Swindon is not an option long term for him then just drag him back here to derail their promotion chances

Absolute nonsense! If we and Swindon agree for Swindon to pay us some kind of bonus fee if they are promoted with Doyle on loan to them, there is nothing to stop that being done. It's simply down to the two clubs agreeing it.

I have a suspicion that this will be the kind of agreement the clubs negotiate if Doyle remains at Swindon.

What if we play them in the play-offs? Can Swindon risk him not being able to play against us in their biggest games of the season ?

That would be a real sticky issue to be resolved and would depend on what is agreed between the clubs in the loan agreement. As we know, the current one precludes Doyle from playing against us in league games. Who knows what might be agreed on playing restrictions if the clubs pursue this kind of conditional loan fee.

As I understand it that was part of the second deal that was offered to Rahic with regards Hendrie, who was on loan to us from Burnley at the time, if Burnley let us keep him on less money, Burnley wanted a one off payment if we got into the play off's, but Rahic didn't fancy Hendrie or the one off payment and that was the beginning of the end once the news broke to the squad at Yeovil.

Are you sure? As part of the deal a fresh clause could be inserted?

Something on the lines of:- “on the conclusion of the 2019/2020 Season, should Swindon Town, gain promotion from the EFL League 2, then a clause will come into effect, whereby Swindon Town will make an additional payment to the parent club Bradford City a figure of £xxx, xxx”.

In the ever changing and increasingly complex world of football finance, then a revised Contract which included a sub clause, in such a vein, would seem to be perfectly reasonable.

That is what I thought. But then I am not a successful businessman, used to complex negotiations involving substantial sums of money.;)

That's the inference in the Irish Independent article posted earlier on this thread. He says it's Liverpool or Dublin now, infuriating his agent.
