Either Doyle or Bowyer need to go, don’t care which one but it’s pointless having them both in the same building.
-
Is it nearly February, this is beyond tedious.
My 2ps worth. I think Doyle will stay. I think he'll see out his contract here and then after that be looking for the most profitable deal, the last big pay day. That's unlikely to be something either us or swindon are likely to be able to offer him, it'll likely be a top end league 1 team.
I think any city fans arguing a case for not recalling him are wrong in their heads. Why the heck would you not recall a player in such good form.
And Swindon fans saying he'll do nothing for you are deluded. He was never going to keep on this run swapping back to city and adjusting etc but he's offering a lot more than we had before and therefore is improving our team. I sympathise to a degree with your situation but you can't play the poor card and expect to keep your promotion rivals most in form player. This is the risk of loans they're not your players no matter how well they do.
Maybe Wellens would be better moving to a club who have the financial means to support him. -

Won't score without Doyle And will fall down the table - 3 goals next game
Won't score without Yates and will drop like a stone - 3 goals next game
Keel it up Fordy you are fast becoming our talisman fan atm, every time you say we will falter we go and win.
Yates is coming back next week according to Wellens so I could see him getting to 15 goals before the end of the season. Hope scored on his debut and hopefully he will add a few more.
I do feel for Bradford fans, its almost a carbon copy of how Swindon performed our first season back in league 1. -

I am not a Bradford nor Swindon fan, but my mate recommended this thread for a good laugh.
It is unbelievable that you have devoted 216 pages of comments to a player that has not scored for you this season.
I was told that one particular poster (Fordy 117) hasn't got a clue & I can see that is true, some of that person's comments are laughable eg "Swindon will drop like a stone" & "Swindon are rubbish".
Well, they are not doing so bad without Mr Doyle & their manager has stated today that he is 99% sure that he will not be returning to Swindon this month.
Bit of a shame that the comedy will come to an end in February, but at least there is still a week of fun to come. -
Can't understand it, just got in from the match and reading back this forum has been totally dead this afternoon. Even Fordy's quiet. Think he maybe starting to eat his words, Not the best squad out today, no strikers but everyone putting in a shift, I think any decent goalscorer would score in our current side, So, We're not dropping like a stone as you predicted Fordy, but you are.

Plymouth are coming for them. I think they might still go up automatically though if Rotherham let Yates go back next week -

Fordy, you say we've played 3 since his return and only got 4 points from a possible 9. If you're including the game against you which he was illegible then yes 3 games and yes 4 points. You however in the same period played 4 and got 3 points. You've failed to win any of those and even where Doyle scored a hatrick for us you failed to get a point.
This however has changed today, we have now played 4 including the gane against you, you've played 5. We won 3-0 today against Port Vale you lost at Mansfield 3-0.
What I am getting at fella is people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.
Yes with a better manager you would do better, but until that happens pipe down son you're making yourself look very silly! -
Can't blame the Swindon fans, I'd be laughing my ass off too. They saw how shit Bowyers football was before many of our own fans did. Never rated Swindon when we played them but they must be doing something right in all their other games.
My only problem was with their Twitter fans, never seen a group of people so obsessed. Hitting up a players wife on Twitter and begging them to come back to Swindon etc, was like we stole their player when it was just a loan. Very odd. -

Enough said. -
Doyle for Wellens and Jewell!
If Rupp and Rhodes had any ambition that's what I would be putting forward to Swindon ha!
Seriously, Swindon don't need Doyle. They have even got Hope scoring who scored 3 in 30.
I would argue now that spend 150-200k on Doyle would be a waste at this moment.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand... -
To be fair would one be good without the other. If we had Doyle and not Wellens would it work ?, I don't think so, Wellens could possibly do something with the strikers you have, but it would mean a complete change in the style you play, although most posters on here can see that is what's needed.
No, much as I loved Doyle and would love to see him back I don't think he would be the same player without Wellens and his style of play. As you have said Wellens is going to be hard to keep. It does appear that Yates will be back, so would we have such a need for Doyle ?.
Maybe the best way out of this Fordy is for you and Bowyer to sit down and watch a few of Doyles games at Swindon, , maybe then you could explain to him the sort of service he needs as he doesn't seem to be seeing it at the moment. Anyway, good luck for the rest of the season, hopefully see you in league one next season. -
To be fair mate it would be pointless sitting down with Bowyer to discuss how to get the best out of Doyle.
Bowyer's mindset is all wrong. I posted quotes from your manager to ours from the pre match comments. Your manager talked about winning and entertaining but ours was talking how difficult a team Mansfield are ha. His mindset is defensive. It's not just Doyle he can't get a tune out of it's all our attackers and midfielders.
People like @Bronco seem to be scared of change! We urgently need to change our manager. We could win tomorrow and against Oldham but it would be papering over the cracks. Like what you've done, Liverpool, Man City, Wolves, Leeds, Rotherham, Exeter and many other clubs, you need to find a manager that's going to lead you for years, a manager with a plan on how to play the game. Not one fan on here can tell you what players or formation our joker of a manager will play on Tuesday.
Bowyer has no idea! He's just a man that wants a job and lucky to be in one at this moment.
When a relationship isn't working no matter how hard it is, you have to end it for all parties concerned.
Rhodes our CEO has to stop be so god dam weak and end it! Do what's right!
Starting to think Rhodes is mega soft hence why you got Doyle on the cheap, wouldn't of happened on my watch ha.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...
