All 4 games have been a horrible watch from our perspective, the players never looked interested and you could tell they would rather have been on a beach.

I disagree, it was the last game within the group surely professional athletes can get themselves up for 90 minutes, then hit the beach.

The chances of getting an injury in this particular game, compared to months worth of hell for leather Premier League games, are pretty slim.

The players won't be burned out in November, either. They might end up being burned out at the end of the PL season, but I think the need to rest them is overstated.

Although I'm not sure why they aren't all just on holiday anyway.

The international bodies scheduling football between May and July unnecessarily in a tournament year is a nonsense.

 

That is what I meant, he should have rested them all and sent them on holiday. It is close season, should have used it to blood some kids. Not sure if the scheduling is due to delay with Euros

Football fans really are fickle (myself included!). That was abysmal, but fair play to Hungary. Southgate deserves his chance at this World Cup though, judge him on that.

 

The man got the job when the national team was at its lowest ( Hodgson ) so anything even the slightest improvement was always gonna work out well for him .............. but the Croatia game for starters was bad but to repeat the same tactical trick against Italy was even more unforgivable.............. sadly you know what coming in Qatar we will go deep into the tournament and yet again his tactics will cost us big time ............ as for last night being meaningless sorry we ain’t been battered at home by one of the top nations we are talking Hungary here ...............

 

Its not the equivalent though. It has barings on seedings for majors, qualification etc. These players surely want to secure their place on the plane.
