    Dull as dishwater, again.

Southgate is a dour, defensive, very limited coach. And yes, we’ve reached a Euro final and a WC semi, but both were huge opportunities wasted. We have some very talented players who’re playing with the handbrake on.

International Football’s equivalent of Gary Bowyer.

Watching England is like watching a smooth travelling racehorse on the bridle, jockey hasn’t even moved an inch, one tap and it’s gonna surge clear, but it keeps hold of the reigns and the horse finishes behind the front pair having never been given a proper chance of winning.

I honestly think its the players that have taken Southgate as far as they can.

The tactics in that final last year, in front of a Wembley crowd were deplorable. If you take the lead 2 minutes in you stick to your game plan, 0-0. Acting like it was the 80th minute in the 3rd minute was ridicilous.

We did the same against Croatia.

I watched the Hungary game and that was enough for me. Where was the pride and the passion. It looked to me like just going through the motions and not getting injured before their summer hols

Probably true. No point in getting injured in the international equivalent of the Johnstone Paint Trophy

Except it's not meaningless. It impacts on our seeding for the next Euros.

It's a difficult juggling act for the manager. Ideally he'd want to field a full strength team to maximise our Euros seeding. But he also needs to be mindful of not burning out players who've had a long season with the World Cup coming up in November.

England aren't the only big team that's struggled in the Nations League. France have lost to Croatia and Denmark and drawn with Austria - all games you'd normally expect them to win. Germany have had three 1-1 draws.

It's a glorified friendly tournament and should be treated as such. The results are pretty much meaningless as we'll qualify for tournaments no matter how they shape out group.

Literally, the only important thing is that no players pick up any injuries. Barring that, there's very little interest.

So you'd be happy with us throwing the tournament and ending up with a terrible seeding in the Euros and a really tough group as a result?

No passion from yet another boring, negative England side so far tonight.

Contrast that to the wonderfully entertaining England cricket team

Never rated Southgate. Can appreciate what he's done off the field but as a coach he's average at best.

The strengths of this squad are in attacking areas yet we have a negative, defense obsessed dinosaur who encourages anything but. Its criminal.

Players like Saka aren't good enough.

If you're one of the front three in one of the best teams in the world, you need to be a goal threat.

Bowen has also been awful for England whenever I've seen.

Terrible performances from Gallagher, Phillips, Bowen, Saka and Guéhi, Germany getting into top gear now winning 5 - 0 against Italy a team we couldn't break down.
    now 3 - 0 as I post shocking Southgate.
Add Walker to that list of crap performances.

He's a fraud is Southgate. Not arsed about this 'tournament', but Southgate ain't up to it.

Thank fudge the world cup is in November.
3-0 down at home to Hungary, no real effort on goal and now down to 10 men.

The Molineux crowd telling it as it is now Stones second yellow, just gets worse.

Normally if England are abysmal they're drawing these games 0 0 and we're all bored to tears.

    But 3-0?
