    Except if you had actually watched the match you would know the goal was scored before Lingard came on and with Mata in his place, there were some major problems. Mata, while he is great at picking a ball, he lacks mobility and it meant Rashford didn't have spaces to attack. Rashford ended up being the one dropping deep, moving into channels to try and create space but Mata can't get up with the play, Pereira lacks the pace of Martial so we only had James who isn't natural coming narrow to lead the line. And without Lingard's willingness and ability to get back Pogba also couldn't commit forward (Which is why Pogba along with Lindelof were the worst players on the pitch. How people rate Lindelof I don't know, I mean wow he can pass a ball but his positioning is shocking and always has been, he can't read the English game one bit)

    When Lingard came on it actually helped in those areas until the sending off, the sending off saw them drop deep and refuse to really get out of their structure. That's actually when you need a Mata more than a Lingard as a team sitting deep and rigid needs short clever passes not movement to unlock them

    He shouldn't be in the England squad. If he was at arguably any team other than United he would be nowhere near. Only gets a sniff because of how poor united are.

    Thank god Southgate looking elsewhere.

    Sterling and Sancho streets ahead of him. Rashford is another wide option. Plus Hudson-Odoi is back playing. Mount, Maddison, etc ahead of him in AM role too.

    Lingard down the pecking order and rightly so.

    Did Jared Bowen get selected in his place?

    I'd say we were both wrong but Bowen isn't even playing PL football yet, never mind getting close to matching Lingards number of caps so what's your point?

    Yep. One has proven time and time again how poor he is. The fact id have a Championship player over him says it all on how bad I think he is.

    I never said Bowen should get a call up though. There are plenty ahead of him too, thats what was lost on you. His time could come eventually though.

    Bowen will be in the PL next term. A fine Championship player (with 22 goals last term) just like Abraham, Mount and others before him in the England squad.

    The fact is Lingard is no longer in the squad. I was right he should lose his place. Playing for a big club shouldn't warrant a call up. Sad you think so. Typical sky sports football fan.

    Plenty of players ahead of Bowen yet you couldn't give another example as an alternative for Lingard? Until now of course when they've already been selected.

    Watching as a neutral, the Czechs deserved it, they had some right characters and played maybe as well as they could? England were poor for this match but nothing much changes in the way of things...............

    Feel for Declan Rice, not his fault but another player the British Press have completely blown out of of proportion. Competent but not sure what he does well to get the plaudits he has. Looks a better defender than a midfielder.
