    The glaringly obvious thing for me was a true indication of just how shallow and inadequate our 'squad' really is. As others before have indicated ..... God help us if we suffer a run of injuries and/or suspensions.

    TBH I would probably get behind the competition if it was open purely to L1 & L2 clubs only, but having Prem development teams in it just takes the piss

    Give them all 90 minutes (maybe apart from ismail). No need to risk an important player for even 1 minute of this joke competition. Only reason I'd play BRR is because he's suspended for 3 games anyway and needs to keep his fitness up.

    jayden Braaf was supposed to be used in main squad tonight at Preston and was brilliant in the uefa youth cup. Lightning pace. Full backs in for a tough night.

    tommy Doyle has captained England from under 15s to under 18s.

    Nahum Touizi scores 79 goals in two seasons for Valencia youth teams.

    there is probably more but they will be a good side.

    It's only a matter of time before the Wembley Final is played between two Premier League under 23 teams maybe the penny will drop with the powers that be when 10,000 fans turn up to the final.

    The entire radio crew, FCW Andy Kiwomya, the tea boy, everyone, is completely raving about George Sykes Kenworthy. Outstanding, fantastic talent, superb performance. Worried other clubs are gonna come in for him. Comparing him to Jordan Pickford.

    I'm not sure I was watching the same game.

    Thanks for the insight WW. In that case maybe it'd be prudent for City to request all future games in this wretched competition are played away from home too then. Certainly save a fortune on stadium operating costs!

    The only positive I can see is that it gives game time to those who need it. i.e. McCartan, French, Longridge.

    Reece Staunton is back from his loan spell, can take a look at him too and see where he's at.
