Both sides will be looking at this as a winnable tie and a great chance to get to Wembley. It's also a chance for both sides to have a little bit of success in what has been a poor season for both.

    Wycombes run so far:
    • Topped their group with 3 wins (1-0 v Palace u21s, 1-0 v Stevenage(A) and 1-0 Wimbledon (H)
    • Round of 32 they beat Fulham u21s 3-2
    • Last 16 they beat West Ham u21s 2-1
    • Quarter Finals they beat Brighton u21s 4-1
So they've not faced a senior team since the group stages and have had an even easier run to the semi finals than we have. It will be interesting to see what type of side they play as they are still in a relegation fight. From their game last weekend they made 5 changes for their game against Brighton on Wednesday. In between our game they've got 2 tough games with Oxford (H) and Stevenage (A).

3 of their 4 new signings will be eligible which are Matt Butcher (CM from Plymouth), Saxton Earley (LB from Plymouth) and Nigel Lonwijk (CB from Wolves).

They barely brought any for an fa cup game on a weekend so I’d imagine they’ll bring less than 100 for a long midweek away game in a tinpot cup.

They brought 250 for the FA Cup so if they bring half of that I'd say that's a good number. For their home games so far in the competition they've had attendances of 442, 664, 323, 881 and then 769 for their 1/4 final. They only took 96 to their away game at Stevenage in the groups so probably if we are to beat the FA Cup crowd it will need 3,500 home fans to have any chance. As it will be on TV I think they will put some off and it's not whoever gets through you'll need a stub from this game to get a ticket to the final so even less incentive to go if you are 50/50.

So getting to the final is where the money is.
    40,000 x £40 = £1.6M

Not the easiest things to read but looking at 26.4.3 it reads to me that each club in the semi final and final gets 30%

The vast majority of the ticket money will be going on the expenses of hosting the match and any profit that is made we only keep 45%. Wycombe can claim nearly £5000 for travel and hotels alone so that's the 1st 625 sold wiped out (accounting for VAT) before we get onto floodlights, stewards etc so it would take a lot of tickets to be sold to generate any sort of worthwhile profit.

Ah ok, let’s sack it off then so that we make a loss and are forced to sell players in the summer.

Whatever monies are generated would only run to a years wages for a bog standard player, and we've enough of them already ...

I thought i had read that the EFL cover a lot of the costs of staging these games.
1000 fans at £5 less vat, just over £4000, you are not going to run much on that.
