Yet players on relative high wages such as Doyle and Vaughan did not turn around our fortunes? Does Edin get blamed for this?

Are you okay? He’s funded one of the best transfers in a while!

He did in 2016, 2017 and 2018, 2019 and yet the same problems seem to replicate. I bet he has spent a lot less than aforementioned years and despite the claim this is the best transfer window in a while, that's just a wild guess at this stage. Nothing to conclude that this group of players is good enough to get us PROMOTED.

I wish we were 18th in the Khazi League.

We're actually 20th, just 8 points of EFL annihilation.

Fingers crossed we haven't witnessed a false dawn like we did when we finished bottom of League One by a country mile.

We should be good enough to stay up, but we have shown zero confidence in our managers and won't back them.

Let's hope we're not looking for an emergency replacement who YET AGAIN missed out on a transfer window.

For what it's worth, I think we'll finish mid table.

If you had a toxic barrel labeled Edin you wouldn't take the lid off or touch it with a bargepole.
The damage done to our club by one individual has and always will rear it's ugly head every now and again thanks to those who see fit to mention the most vile employee our club had the misfortune to be associated with.
    I personally detest the man.

I think everything was destined for failure under him, personally. He created a toxic culture in the club, destroyed relationships within and outside of the club. The problems would have seeped onto the field and the team was doomed from the outset.

The players didnt seem to perform for Collins and Drury and so the fans never got them onside, whereas with Trueman and Sellars, we saw an instant up lift. The players bought into their ideas and the fans respected them as they’ve picked up results while caretakers/interim.

There was too much anger RE the Collins and Drury appointments for the fans to ever get behind them IMO

One win from the Championship and playing league football against L*eds. All destroyed once he got his grubby hands on the club and implementing his strategy. His actions led us to relegation and we're still recovering now both on and off the pitch.

It makes me sick thinking about how things could have been after the years of progression under Parky and how close we came to reaching the championship. As the "hands on" leader of the club he should take responsibility for the decisions he took and the outcomes it led to. He f*cked 5 years of progression in an 18 month spell at the helm.

This could break the NDA. Hopefully Rupp won't stoop to the level and start a public spat. Best to leave the rat alone.

Still angers me how he destroyed this club, when he joined all we needed were a couple of decent players to add to Parkys squad and we’d have been promoted.. but no “he knew football” and decided to hit the reset button.. pretty much wiped out every single person at Bradford City... right down to the safety officer!

Edin - Rot in hell you barsteward!

There's far too much angst and blame laid at Edin's door, both in this thread and in general. There were others, some still at the club and some who jumped ship as we were sinking who were also culpable for our demise yet seemingly get a free pass.

Let's not forget, some people now reveling in Edin's downfall were more than happy to back him when the suspicions were first raised and safeguard their own interests first rather than the interests of the club.

Don't get me wrong, Edin deserves a huge amount of criticism (although personal insults don't sit right) and he definitely shouldn't have shown more humility in accepting massive errors of judgement.
However, it's sloping shoulders of others that stood idly by or perhaps even actively participated that I don't like.

One person alone simply couldn't have caused all of this, not without others being at least complicit and we'd do well to remember that in amongst the back slapping of some.

According to Sparks the club itself has funded most of it, he said it in an interview the other day.

Quite right. Far too many enabled his behavior, particularly key individuals within or closely associated with the club. The sad truth is, we've been regressing as a club for over 20 years, permeated by a brief renaissance of sorts under parky - which was clearly driven by him rather than anything that the club did systematically.

Sparks looks to have a little more ambition, but I'm not placing too much stock in what we've seen over the last 8 weeks. I honestly don't think we'll move forward properly until we have an owner with vision, who's willing to invest and take a level of measured risk in terms of personal finances.

When did City ever have an owner like that? Certainly not Rhodes and Lawn who if they were still in charge would be bricking it big time now with the pandemic and no cup runs since 2015. Certainly they wouldn’t have sanctioned a player budget this season which apparently is well in excess of 2 million. They certainly wouldn’t have given an interest free loan of over 1 million as Rupp has. You could say Richmond was the only chairman who took a measured risk but he just used other people’s money and bankrupt the club. The best we can ever get regarding a takeover is a local consortium which I assume the Rupp haters want, but we’ll just plod on in the lower divisions relying on cup runs. Don’t forget Lawn made no secret of the fact we couldn’t afford to play in the Championship while him and Rhodes were there.

We’ve only lost 1 game under these two after taking 18 points from the previous 8. Hardly looking like a false dawn.

Richmond would be the obvious one. Certainly forward thinking and ambitious, but we know from history that he exposed us to certain risks that came to bite when the ITV digital deal collapsed. But that ride was the best any of us will ever have had as City fans.

Other clubs manage to attract such owners though, I'm not sure why we couldn't. I think there's a lot of potential in this club, but it needs vision and a level of wealth to unlock it. Sadly, everything about this City seems defeatist and backward thinking. The regression of the club mirrors that of the City as a whole.

There's one thing that's clear to me - Rupp has neither the interest or desire invest in growing the club, beyond protecting the money he's put in to buy it. The fact that he hasn't bought the ground, speaks volumes to me.
