Here you go. My favoured ‘ish’ alternative location. The bottom picture is of the King George playing fields on Canal Road. Flat site, valley bottom. The upper is VP. The pictures from Google should be the same scale, so it would suggest that there is as much scope to build a stadium there. There is a large area to the north of Gaisby Lane which potentially could be utilised. Very close to the railway station!
However until we get £30 million and the cooperation of the Local Authority then it is just a brief talking point.

The old boundary post was on the south side of the ramped Frizinghall Road. I would have seen the stadium on the old King George playing field.
So the ground would be in Bradford! ;) X 2

I get what you mean but if the pie in the sky talk of a redevelopment ever actually happened then it is a good location to draw in external visitors if the venue was used for other purposes beyond football or rugby. Any new development needs to be multi purpose so City and the fans would only be a part of the wider picture.

It is good for those of us home fans based that side of town too. Those in Low Moor, Bierley, Scholes, Oakenshaw, Wibsey, Brighouse, Wyke and Cleckheaton etc would find it as easy to commute to as those in Bolton, Eccleshill, Idle and Thackley do to VP now!

That said, I was a kid when City played there before so I don’t have those bad memories. It still wouldn’t quite feel the same watching City anywhere other than VP for me though.

And even less money. The council's budget was slashed by over a third during Osborne's austerity reign of terror and that was before Covid hit revenues in all sorts of ways. Basic services have had to be cut left, right and centre.
The idea of the council borrowing millions that it doesn't have to finance a stadium for a club owned by a man worth £100m+ is pie in the sky, and rightly so in current economic circumstances.

If only the Council had given City all those millions spent and wasted on the Bulls
