Drinking Beer & Supporting City (Bring me sunshine & a beer)

I hope this isn't true but a friend of mine from Saltaire has told me tha Fannys is getting a "contempory makeover". Normally I wouldn't complain about fannys with a contemporary look but not my favourite boozer

Joking apart anyone else heard this?

 

I'd heard that it's under new ownership and being 'refurbished'. Doesn't sound good.

 

Nothing wrong with Spoons. Good beer at good prices, just avoid the Ruddles County, especially if you plan to have a curry later.

 

Just taken delivery of a dozen bottles of each of these.....both a cracking drop.

 

My youth revisited , , in fact all my adult life! Eek!

 

When I worked in London we once did an afternoon watching ESSEX at Ilford. Absolutly wrecked the following day!

 

I think the recipe is as follows. Don’t hold me to the volume of sugar and fruit, Wife will wonder what I’m up to if I ask

1.5 litre of non expensive gin.
500g of sugar
and 1000g of raspberry’s ( freeze em first as it gets the flavour out better)

Pour the lot , equally divided into Two I litre empty gin bottles with screw lid

Shake the bottle once every day for a week

Leave it, if you can for about a year.

You can try ant fruit gin in the world. Nothing and I mean nothing is comparable. (The manufactured flavours are artificial usually)

It’s stunningly good!

 

Ours ain’t rich , but the flavour is something else. Cross between blackcurrent, blackberry, raspberries. Wonderful.

 

I think you'll find that I said friends share their gin and not their recipes for gin.....

Seriously we ain’t had the kids round since last March, they usually help drink it. I’m sure when they eventually get to come we will be trying our level best to reduce stocks to more manageable levels.?

It’s all about being Covid safe , which has been our goal.

There is always a funny smell in fannys and its too dark to see any thing .

LOL.......When I was a little younger I could stay all night in the place, loved it!
Now I’m older I really can’t be arsed visiting Fannys, and on the odd occasion I do get to visit it’s always for a quickie then out again! It’s not at the top of my list after lockdowns lifted.

 

Exactly my experience of fannies. Loved it when I was younger, but now a quicky is all I want.

 

For a home game I’m satisfied with 10 bottles of £1 Stella in the Barracks, prior to walking down to VP at 14:35.

After the game it’s either home to the mrs or out in town!

God I cant wait to get my Saturdays back.

 

I can't wait for lockdown to end, my divorce coincided with lockdown so not seen Fannies for a while....always looks a bit small and tight though.....I've got my anorak tucked under my arm....bye...
