You have just agreed what the effect of fans not renewing will be. So the protest is not futile as you suggest. TBH I don't think a protest will be actually needed. The club is doing everything it can right now on the pitch to make the ST renewal decision that much harder.Rupp will have to decide whether to have a decreasing player budget=decreasing quality of player=decreasing value of the business. Whilst it won't hurt him directly financially straight away over time his asset will be very much at risk.

So apparently according to a conversation held with rupp today by a fan, Rupp stated he had put £500k into this season's budget as he felt that the agreed budget of £2.3m was too small.

Interesting off the back of sparks comment at the beginning of the season that rupp has put in nothing since he had been CEO

 

You are the one stating it’s like losing £5 to him, so why not take a million which he wouldn’t otherwise have? Plus he wouldn’t tarnish his reputation. The £5 million is gone, it was 8 years ago and his investment has regressed. Time to get out asap with what he can get, rather than wait for an unrealistic amount and risk either having to put his own money in or losing the lot.

 

No one needs to persuade anyone not to renew. The club is adequately doing that already.

So what do you say to those who are not renewing by choosing not to themselves. I doubt many will not renew if asked. In reality natural wastage will occur, especially after today's debacle.

I stayed until the end but didn't do much clapping today.

 

I stayed until the end only because getting out was easier as traffic was so light. Most had left the ground by then. I would say 2K left in at FT whistle-not including the Mansfield fans that is.

As I said earlier a percentage won’t renew but when it comes down to it plenty will. so it will be a smaller budget but manageable. One thing is it should be quieter on here if people abstain from on here as well

We absolutely don’t want a smaller budget as that will ultimately mean the chances of promotion are lower.

You can’t take the piss out of @Park bantam for suggesting that a lower budget is ‘manageable’ and that downsizing is not a blueprint for success when its you and others that are promoting the idea of not renewing ST’s so that it has the effect of giving us a lower budget (downsizing)
