if so how was it... was the guidelines adhered to

My mates fancied it but it isn't for me.... local was saying tables were first come first served but what happens when other folk come in

Was they asked to leave... can see some friction

Some pubs offering tables with time slots.. how does that work when folk are pissed not wanting to leave and next folk waiting to be seated

    Not for moi. .. sorry

Think you had to book a table in most pubs in Idle for 2 hour slots. Idle Draper was a £20 ticket for 4 pints I believe.

Babysitting Grandson overnight for first time for 4 months for me and Mrs Idle. So that was better than going to pub!

Is that allowed now? Thought the 2m thing was still in place for different households

It probably is - he poked him with a stick to shove him upstairs to bed.

Yes it's allowed. It's now only guidance not law.

Yep, but who takes notice of that anymore?

There's so much contradiction in the guidance that it makes no sense whatsoever. Young kids are allowed to go to school 5 days a week and play with 8 other kids and a couple of teachers but can't give their grandad a cuddle.

To be honest I couldn’t think of anything worse. Booking a table to have a few pints and being made to leave when your times up? Garbage.

It’s not exactly like we couldn’t drink at home anyway. Don’t get the rush. I’ll save it for when it’s a bit more normal. Just doesn’t sound enjoyable to me

I played golf and had a couple of pints after -it was a sad, sterile experience, you could almost say desperate.
But just seen the news and it looked a proper night out down Soho!

I went to Leeds to watch the footy, have a few beers and then something to eat. It was absolutely fine and not all that crowded as all you softies stayed at home and made up excuses.

Hardly. Schools are supposed to be adhering to social distancing at all times to limit contact. That's far form the same as a kid hugging someone who being a grandparent in most cases means they are generally in a more at risk age group

Personally I feel anyone who went to the pub or those planning on going on holiday are idiots. We are seeing the R rate rising, outbreaks in other countries and we probably haven’t yet seen the biggest impact of all those idiots who went on BLM marches during a pandemic . Getting back to some normality is one thing but this next stage should have been delayed as imho we are going to just see it put us back on full lockdown

I'm following the advice given, like I have been since lockdown and if you'd been in the bars I was in on Saturday then you'd have seen that there is clearly a lot more close contact and a far riskier environment when I'm going food shopping.

Feel free to tell everyone to continue to stay at home for a good while longer though, that way the bars should stay relatively quiet so I can always grab a prime seat for watching the football.

I know of several pubs in my area where everything was very well setup and rules were followed. I'm also aware of Soho and the Lane Ends because that's what the media want you to think happened everywhere up and down the country.

I’m currently sat camping in a field having a bit of a holiday. Maybe I’m stupid, it’s probably just my genes.

The thing is though Food Shopping is essential. Going and sitting for hours in a closed environment to have a drink and watch football is hardly essential. Also tbh the biggest issue isn't even with going to the pub but more the problems that the alcohol then causes. If you could trust people not to be idiots and only have 1 or 2 and you could also trust bar owners not to be money-grabbing bastards who will only do enough to prevent overconsumption to prevent them being legally liable then it would be fine but sadly those are things you can't rely on. Infact because some are having you book and only giving you a set length it perhaps encourages overconsumption of then the issues that come with that more. The push to extend opening times previously, after all, has had the idea that being open longer means people drink at a more steady pace so even though they may drink slightly more in total its spread over a longer period so the concentration in your system is lower

I was talking more the foreign Holidays tbh. There are some lomas of UK holidays (but not all) where you can be in a fair amount of control to limit you exposure but it’s very hard to limit exposure going through an airport with the security that has to be in place, getting on a plane and then flying to a country where you are then being taken to a hotel where you mix with people and either spend your days by a pool or on the beach where you are relying on others actually not being selfish bastards who as long as they are having fun they don’t care
