Derek Adams' views on his time at VP

Jon, under no circumstances will I listen to this man. He see’s all the applications for the job at Bradford City and he is jealous and still holds a grudge against the fans. He therefore discredits the ‘prize’ in order to deflect his own failures.

Yes we have a lot to improve on. In order to maximise our full potential we could do with an owner who is passionate about our club and wants to invest. I would love to own VP again as 1/2 million a year is very high rent. It goes without saying that if we could get it back we should try. The commercial side of the business is doing well, so not entirely sure what he means when he says there is no structure. As I say a long list of things to do at VP but I doubt any of them will be done with the current owner.

 

Signing a quartet of non scoring strikers like Lavery, Robinson, Elliott and Delfuneso was on Derek. He wanted them and he got them. Shite.

 

Roll on Boxing Day. It could be 'lively'.

Personally I’m not really bothered, tippy tappy, long ball, out wide and whipping crosses in (or ideally a combination of the three).
I’m more bothered about the energy levels which have been missing under Hughes, no intensity, little attacking intent and the only risks we took were on our own six yard line.

No his real complaint was the fans not giving the managers enough time and being too sensitive if we don't win every game at home, read it back again...

 

Feel like the only reason people say this is so they can call themselves a "proper fan".

Are you yourself to blame then for the coincidental downfall since Rupp came in, or is it just all the other fans?

He said one thing and you paraphrased it as blaming the fans as to why managers fail here, like there isn't demands from supporters in every managerial job

That's the damning part. He's saying support the manager through thick and thin because it's a shitshow above him.

 

The '20 Manager's in 20 years', suggests we've had not any success in 20 years. That isn't true.
Parky got us to a Lge Cup Final, Promotion, year on year improvement, FA Cup QF & League 1 play-offs.
All with even less structure than Adams had and a lot worse facilities.

Adams may have a point on some bits, but there is also a big chunk of 'blame everyone else but me'.

 

Managers who complain are always the ones that fail. You didn’t hear Parky saying those things simple excuses for failure

 

He also claims he'd have got us promoted that season. You missed that bit off.
We all know DA wasn't getting us anywhere near promotion that season. DA talks some BS to deflect the blame from his own failure.
Also, interesting that DA complains of lack of structure but he dismantled the structure Sparks was putting in place (Turnbull), to give himself more control (3 scouts that he didn't use).

 

So glad I have zero intentions of going to the Boxing Day game, I don't think I could stand watching Adams shush the box and then the ground after poo-housing a 1-0 win. Probably spray painting "xG" onto Sparks car afterwords.

Adams should perhaps look at himself before gobbing it off. Awful football, poor signings, terrible attitude towards supporters, full of excuses and an arrogant attitude.

 

Proof Ryan thinks a manager just needs a budget to be successful.

And this is why we fail.
