I was thinking this bloke deserves his own thread

What a revelation this feller has been , I know it's early days but he could go on to be a city legend

People said boring manager boring football.. how wrong can this be , the team he has built could well go on to win the league barring injury

His interviews show what sort of character he is... no messing straight to the point

All I can say is Morecombe must be gutted

Thing is though people are happy with the style of play if we are winning. If we lose then maybe not

Is anybody happy if we are losing, regardless of whose in charge?

Several times during the first and second half ROD was banging the ball long almost reaching the Manfield box, so much so that they put one of their players right on the edge of our box to try and put ROD off and stop getting such a long kick, it didn't work.

Well we were told what good sides Stevenage and especially Mansfield were on their own patch, even after scoring first and then Mansfield equalising and taking the lead we always looked capable of a result, at 2 - 1 down I think most would have been content to take a 2 - 2 draw, Adams and the players had other ideas never sitting back with that mentality and fought till the end.
There well be defeats along the way but if we continue the way we've started it will take a good side to take all 3 points of us.

I’m loving him so far, early days but he reminds me of Parky. Jamie asked him after the Oldham game what his plans were with the players in the build up to Stevenage saying I take it day off tomorrow and in Monday, he said no they’re in tomorrow and Monday. No slacking and no nonsense, exactly what this club has needed after 4 years of regression, and tbh poor discipline where mercenaries have come for a final pay day. He knows what is needed to get out of this god awful league I have no doubt about that.

Still early days, of course, but very impressed by Adams. Very clear, articulate and concise in his interviews. I'd guess the players are given straightforward instructions in the tactic talks so everyone is clear what is expected of them. KISS.

Full marks to Sparks, or whoever may have given him the nod to go after him.

Fingers crossed that we maintain these results!

Early days to sing to much praise but he is the kind of manager this badly failing club needs.

He won’t dance about. He will tell the club straight and if will improve because of it.

We will lose him if we don’t improve on and off the pitch. He’s not interested in pleasing people it seems. He’s interested in results and getting them.

I am enjoying him but you do not get to know about someone until its start to go wrong... Plymouth loved and then hated him. Lets see how it pans out but I agree combined with Sparky and our head of recruitment we seem to be heading up up up and up

Too many on here acting like they are 5.Getting far too excited.

Spot on. Let’s see what happens when things go wrong. We hope they won’t but that’s when you fully get to judge.

Tbh, its the style that surprised me. The only game that worried me in terms of 'style' was the Oldham game, but the other games we've played we've played attacking, direct and physical football. No complaints on style so far. In fact, before we kicked a ball I expected us to be solid but lacking in attacking threat. The opposite looks tobe true!

I think if we get key injuries and a good team stifles mr Cooke our playmaker we may see different results. All good now boys all good

Seeing the players training for the first time under Adams last Friday him and his backroom staff certainly look to be on the ball, starting with our conditioning coach ? taking the warm up before they started actually training, 4 watching and Adams there with his stop watch and clip board making notes of what he's seeing and calling time for the players to change sequence very intense.
They left for dinner around 12:30 and as the training equipment was left out it looks like they do an afternoon session too, my only concern is Ryan tells us we have a strong backroom team something Stuart didn't have and when players got injuries we put that down to a lake of bodies in Stuarts backroom staff, yet this season we are getting similar injuries.
We have to accept injuries within the game but after a good pre-season we lost Songo, Eisa, before a ball was kicked in anger, then Ridehalgh and Angol who looks like he could be out a while which I believe has been a part of his footballing history, up to him getting injured he looked a very good player certainly at League Two level.

This is a good post by Fordy, clear headed view. Sometimes he goes over the top with his negativity, just like some people get too carried away.

Not sure anyone is acting like a 5 year old after our last few season of nothing, even if some were why question it, Exeter we could have won and they will be there about's come May, although we got beat at Forset we more than held our own, Oldham should have been beaten convincingly, Stevenage were beaten convincingly, and Mansfield on their own pitch will win far more than they lose so why shouldn't we be happy with what we've seen so far.

Fridays used to be the day we worked on team shape before the match on Saturday. Given that we played mid week, I find it strange that there could be strenuous sessions the day before a tough away trip to Mansfield.

I know Adams is a bit of a fitness freak but hope these injuries aren't the result of flogging the players to death.

Agree Dave, once we went to 2-2 I thought that will do, but I underestimated the team’s resolve. Adams has created that, without a shadow of doubt. At the end of the season that 3rd goal and the extra 2 points it gave us could be absolutely vital. 3 extra points over Mansfield vital, because they might be thereabouts at the run in?
