I bet a few pennies that won’t be our CB pairing going into the league fixtures.

We will be okay with Hendrie at RB. Steady away. Likewise at LB when Ridehalgh is fit or even Foulds.

Getting the right CB pairing found in preseason is the key now.

You could do a poll amongst the fans right now and it wouldn’t be a clear cut result. Hughes won’t be any wiser yet either.

I don't think either Ridehalgh or Hendrie let us down in any match last season. Both are good enough to be starters.

The best two full backs in l2 won't get us promoted but the best central midfield two, keeping the ball, might

Defensively he gets by, his real weakness is getting good crosses in. 30% success rate would be acceptable for a L2 full back not 10% success.

Ridehalgh is easily better than 30% successful rate imho.

I think we would all like better, in several positions but are in League 2 and have built up a good squad so far. Having said that perhaps my memory is going so can you help me out here, since Hendrie joined us on what occasions has he personally let us down?

No player lets us down, odd thing to say. It’s ability we are talking about. Some are better than others, it’s that simple

Agreed to a certain extent Fordy old pal, we need Ridehalgh fit and another first choice for right back or cover for Hendrie if Mark Hughes decides on him as first choice.

Hi Kev. Not arguing here but serious question. What constitutes a successful cross? I thinking for example, a player can hit a great, low, near post cross but none of the strikers make the near post run. Is that a success or not? Likewise a peach of a high cross but the striker mistimes his jump?

My post was a reply to someone who was talking about Hendrie letting us down, it's as simple as that.

Surely you don’t want me to explain a successful cross?

One that beats the first defenders, one that doesn’t go straight into the keepers hands with forwards nowhere in sight, one that doesn’t sail over the dead ball line, one that doesn’t go into touch. Ridehalgh is far better crosser of the ball compared to Hendrie.

I gave 2 examples and asked if they are successful crosses or not. i'll give you a 3rd. A player gets to the line and pulls a ball back and it runs right across the six yard box? Successful cross or not?
