Heres the scenario. Our coaches have been saying for the last three games that we are gonna go for it. Rowes only start in those three games was as a lone striker against Crawley. We're absolutely desperate for goals yet he plays no part in the next two games. It doesn't matter what excuse Trueman comes out with, Rowe realises, quite correctly, that no matter what he does ultimately Trueman has had a look at him but doesn't fit the club going forward. Thats not refusing to fight for your place, thats weighing up the fact you have a very limited amount of time left in your career to play football, and it ain't to anyones benefit being sat on the bench. All this talk of impact sub and all that crap, the lad needs regular game time at this stage of his career and he was never gonna be first choice before Novak and Cook.

A very honest and open article in the T&A by Danny, I've posted this before all his 30 League Goals in 2018 for AFC Fylde but I think it deserves a re-post, just watch his reactions after most of the goals he scores just a nonchalant raise of the arm as if to say "job done", no fancy Dan stuff.

 

Why do people think he doesn’t contribute enough, he is a goal scorer, perhaps not the quickest but you don’t always need that.

To say he doesn’t contribute enough is rubbish imo, the only argument I can see is he doesn’t fit into our system which relies on one up front and cook has been keeping him out of the side.

We are not exactly having lots of goal attempts on target and need to consider him starting in place of Evans or Donaldson. He is a threat in L2.

 

Sign a goalscorer and the management have no idea how to use him. Now where have I heard that one before?

 

Sorry TB but I really don't see that. Danny Rowe has great footballing brain, definitely superior to a lot of those around him but he doesn't get to use it as the ball is constantly flying either at his head or 6 foot over it.

If we kept it in the floor, with players like Callum Cooke around him Danny Rowe could be a great asset at this level.

Whether the managers are brave enough to fit him into a workable system though is another matter.

I wouldn't blame Rowe if he goes when a cr@p player like Billy Clarke gets in the team before him

He was on fire when he started here, and we witnessed what he was capable of.

We never got the best of him due to the joint managers coming up with stupid formations every week

The stats that @Dennis put up with regards goals per playing minutes suggests he did deserve a chance, they didn't start him because the formation they play cant accommodate both Cook & Rowe but to bring Donaldson on in the 91st minute and then make some BS up about we have plenty of strikers, I despair, we were looking inept after 60 minutes (although according to Mark we dominated the game and made chances, playing like we did we'll win more than we lose) why not sling the lad on we could only gain from it we were getting nothing from the game as it was.
We brought Turnbull in to get the players into the club the football management team wanted I would hope they did due diligence on Rowe unfortunately it doesn't look that way if they are now saying he's made it common knowledge he wants out.

 

Like you, not too bothered. We've got some money back from what we paid out and we didn't find the best way to play him nor did he try to fit into the systems he played in. He played his way and that didn't seem to work. Best of luck Danny.

 

If you think finishing bottom half of league 2 has any semblence of success then you are wrong. The season should judged where you finish, its not the fault of Trueman that we will finsh this low down but a season is 46 games long not 20 or 25. As it stands we are just another bang average league side in the lowest division. And that is not success. Escaping non league relegation should be seen as nothing more than a shameful chapter in the clubs history.

 

In my eyes Rowe actually brought very little to the team other than a powerfull shot, and if we continue with this formation , under the managers , his game time will be limited again next season . He is 32 years old and played less than 1 season at league 2 level , i think we can and will get better. Oldham did not try to keep him and neither have we.
So i have had a word with myself and still believe my opinion to be reasonable , it may prove to be incorrect ,but that is football and no one knows how it will turn out.

I think it was a gamble on the clubs part. We were in a dreadfull position , but the longer it went on the less of a fit he looked to how the managers want to play. Best to move him on now , than hang on to him and maybe have to pay wages next season for a player that might not want to give his all to the team and become a disrupting influence. I would have thought you liked this decisive actions of the club , rather than letting things drag on.

Cook is a failed League One striker who is hit and miss at best, and it's clear to see why.

His best form has been at non league level, with some success in League Two.

At his age, it's midtable L2 fare.

So by your measure, ignoring Huffer, two hits from eight, a 25% success rate is a major success? With a supposed expert in charge of recruitment? Riiiight.

why only one? Are we only keeping 11 players and hoping there are no injuries?

 

After all the shit that has been thrown at Rowe on here tonight,he must feel like a man on death row who has been given a repreive.All based on suppossion and hearsay,orchestrated by unofficial club spokesman Park,the lad has been hung out to dry without being given the chance to put his side of the story.What have we become as a club with this sort of behaviour by some of our fans.
