Had he ?, the police looked into the matter when many were happy to jump on the band wagon and hoped he got prosecuted which he didn't, now we have some calling for the Durham constabulary to be investigated.
I thought the cartoon was rather whimsical Boris saying what he'd had for breakfast and Laura's interpretation, even in these dark times we shouldn't lose our sense of humour.

Next up..Labour MP Rosie Duffield who criticised some people in her constituency for breaking lockdown rules and now admits to breaking lockdown rules herself with her married lover.

Keir Starmer has refused to comment so far. He was quick to condemn Cummings and demand his sacking though wasnt he

Correct. I remember Guto Harri, went from the BBC to work for a certain Mr Johnson! You can add a number of others such as Robbie Gibb, and Craig Oliver, who acted as advisors to Cameron.
Quite frankly it is ridiculous to say that the BBC, as an institution, leans one way or the other.

The frankly it is ridiculous is in season @Bigrod@Bigrod - see our politicians, our society and our culture.

Normal Service Will Be Resumed is still a long way off methinks.

Would that be the same BBC that gave Nigel Farage a regular platform on Question Time when his party were a 4% in the polls irrelevance? And ended up putting him on there 39 times.
Everyone thinks the BBC is biased against them, left, right or centre.

Ill take your detailed comment as fact, but I'd think as the leader of a political party he has every right to air time ?.

So, did they give the leaders of the Communist Party or the SWP similar air time? They were giving him regular slots on Question Time when his party had almost no support and the EU was polling as number 10 in the voting public's list of political priorities. The BBC almost single handedly turned Farage from a nobody into a political star.

No I'd suggest what Farage stood for in UKIP and The Brexit Party made him a political star, actually bringing the topic of the EU and leaving to be debated, which eventually made Cameron try and get a better deal from the EU hoping it would pacify his anti EU MPs, the rest is history.

Except that he wasn't a political star and UKIP was mostly regarded as a joke party full of cranks, hence it's miniscule showing at the polls and consistent failure to get any elected MPs. Leaving the EU was a fringe issue, outside of a few MPs on the right of the Tory Party, that most of the voting public regarded as nowhere near their main political priorities. It was only when the BBC decided to keep putting the leader of an unpopular fringe party on prime political TV every few weeks in the interests of 'balance' that the popular momentum behind what became known as Brexit began to grow.

For me, voting should be compulsory! Even if you go to the ballot box and write ‘None of the Above’, or something a lot stronger.

I don’t want to go over the whole Brexit issue again, the decision has been made. However what is very clear, over 50% of the total electorate did not vote to leave.

Of course the UKIP party would have liked to have had better representation in Parliment but there is no denying for many people the UKIP Party and what they were putting forward was very much in line with what many were unhappy about with regards the EU especially free movement.
So having got the topic of leaving the EU on the then Tory governments agenda and Cameron making a complete fool of himself begging the EU for a better deal, ultimately he had to call a referendum, to deny Farage was not the main motivator behind the referendum is strange.
Once the referendum was won Farage was the man speaking on behalf of the leave voters making sure the likes of May's deal was gone over with a fine toothed comb and explained to the ordinary Joe in the streets who didnt understand the sell out clauses.

So from also ran and getting on QuestionTime to being the voice of brexiteers I'd suggest he ain't do too badly with regards changing the political map and many voters opinions.

One mans fringe is another mans majority.
I remember posting at the time that people I had spoken to friends family etc not one had said they were voting for anything else other than leave and I got a few "you mix with the wrong company sort of replies nothing nasty" many were in denial.

The fact that the " truth " is now emerging re- Cummings makes you wonder just how much of it was actually true . The man who "saw " cummings at Bernard Castle as admitted it was a joke , the fact that after 4 years the Brexit issue is still doing the rounds is because the ruling " political elite " will not accept that the great unwashed did ( at the 1st chance despite previous promises )voted to reject the EU , nobody in this country actually voted to join , the original concept of the EEC was fine until the true nature of this organisation came to light . Labour lost the plot since the referendum , they tried to pamper to the champagne socialists in the London protective bubble , they lost touch with their roots , the local elections should have been a wake up call , but they carried on and lost / decimated in the GE . Cummings was a scapegoat to delay Brexit , in the early days of lookdown the MSM kept asking for an extension , why ?. The fact that the lying prick Piers morgan ( remember Milly dowler and the British murderers in Iraq ) is preaching about honesty and integrity says all you need to know about the talentless scum that pose as " voice of the people journalists " shower of shit the lot of them .

Just replying to Steve's post, he brought it up that Farage was leader of a non entity party and just disagreeing, which you also did.

I'd say the public voted for Farage more so than either Brexit or UKIP, the parties he was involved, such was his appeal. Like him or loathe him, nobody can deny he succeeded in setting out what he intended to do.

You are correct. It wont be his own Personal actions, at the end of March beginning of April.

However as the Chief Advisor to the Prime Minister and involved in devising the rules for the public to follow, his subsequent behaviour sent out a message that you don’t need to stick to the rules.

    He was a trailblazer.

So anyone, ‘hanging out at the river, going to the seaside & having your mates round to party’, could say, ‘why should I care’ as Cummings (and others) just ignored the Government rules.

The attitude of ‘Do what I say, don’t do what I do’, rankles the great British public. Those in position of authority and influence, should conduct themselves in an impeccable manner.

Put bluntly he has failed and should go.

Yeah but it's not a game, Cummings, granted a bit cheekily, did what he thought best for him and his family, where the rest of the rulebreakers just think they are cheating the system and being clever....
