But, but, but, vaccinations don't reduce your chances of catching it, they just reduce the severity! Isn't that what we're told on here, ad nauseum? Perhaps those massively higher case rates amongst the unvaccinated are just coincidence.

And now you only isolate for a week as long as you test negative day 6 and 7 on LFT but you don’t have to actually even share your results with anyone.

couldn’t make it up if you tried

The point repeatedly pointed out on here is this.

The vaccine doesn't stop transmission but you shouldn't live in fear of getting covid if you are jabbed because you are in a good position of being protected, just like you are with your flu jab and this is why everyone getting worked up over cases numbers is nuts.

So when we get the next vaccine wain again we shouldn't shit ourselves as we still have protection against serious illness.

    Do you not agree?

This is good news, for many people they are isolating due to a mild illness and if infection is now shorter then why the need to be locked away?

People may get tested. I wouldn't take a pcr test at the moment otherwise I would be locked up for 10 days, so if I had a positive LFT I would keep it to myself and self cert me when negative anyhow.

No. You're told it doesn't stop you getting it.

It's the fact that you can't see that "reduce" and "stop" aren't the same thing.

Weirdly I'm the other way around. I can't remember the last poster on here who said "it doesn't reduce you getting it" maybe I don't pay as much attention as I think.

You're right that nobody says the vaccine stops you getting it though. I think that's an accepted fact at this point.

Yes. It reduces your chances of catching it. I must have said it a hundred times on here. It doesn't stop you catching it.

I genuinely don't recall 3 posters on here who have a position saying the vaccines don't reduce the risk of catching it. Are there any?

Oh come on! The main focus on this thread for ages is that vaccine passports are pointless because vaccinated people can catch and transmit the virus just like unvaccinated people. But these figures show that the chances of catching, and therefore passing on, the virus are massively higher if you are unvaccinated.

The implication on here for months has been that vaccines don't reduce the spread, just the severity. That's clearly wrong.

It hasn't. You're just misinterpreting it when people say "it doesn't stop you catching it".

That's a fact just as much that it does reduce your chances of doing so

It is. It just massively reduces the chances.

I agree, although "massively" might be a stretch depending on how you look at it.

So who has been saying it doesn't reduce the chances then?

And you're missing the point on vaccine passports. People have been saying that they don't work because even with them it's likely that someone in the event will still be carrying the virus and the potential reduction is not worth the societal harm.
