In the middle of the pandemic not many, I am referring to now and the last few month.

Peak pandemic people were following the advice, if you think people in the last few months especially after the vulnerable have had the vaccine are sticking to the letter of the law then you are extreme naive.

There will be some people who still now won't allow people into their house as they have been scared senseless by the messaging, some others like me for example who have been working throughout, have children in school daily think that if it is suitable of us to do that, then I'm sorry but it's fine for me to do that for being a bit human too, not just a working robot.

I know what your referring to. I'm not naive. I know that people have been breaking the rules. My point was that they shouldn't have, not that they haven't.
BTW, look around the world - we are still very much in the middle of the pandemic.

Best tell that to the many members of parliment such as Richard Burgon, Jeremy Corbyn and Zarah Sultana who were all seen leading demos for Palestine in front of thousands.

Why are you quoting those particular politicians to me? I have no affinity with those people.

They are members of parliment, they were taking part in mass gatherings over the weekend. If it's good enough for our members of parliment to be seen to be doing as they feel, then why not the rest of us?

I mentioned the India Delegation not long ago and you were in full support of the idiocy behind that.

Please explain what you mean by that statement? It makes no sense to me.

I still don't understand what you're getting at. I was against the India delegation being invited and said we should have made India a red zone country weeks earlier than we did. I'm also opposed to people engaging in mass, non socially distanced gatherings in defiance of the rules. People should stick to the rules, whoever they are.
How is any of what I said inconsistent?
You'll have to explain your point much clearer than you have because it makes no sense to me.

    Let's play devils advocate here,

    https://www.which.co.uk/news/2021/04/will-i-need-a-coronavirus-vaccine-to-fly-or-travel-in-2021/

Vaccinations will not be necessary at most destinations, but mandatory for many cruises, some tours and a handful of flights this summer. Greece, Spain and Portugal have said UK travellers won’t need to be vaccinated for travel this summer. However, if you have not been vaccinated you will have to submit to Covid-19 tests and therefore face increased costs.

If this does happen with regards flying it would be interesting to see if those who have not had the jab get one , pay the extra cost for a test or buy a fake test certificate, surely it would be easier to just get the jab, would somecrisk buying a fake certificate anx the consequences if caught.

All of this fuss about banning travel from India and I've only just realised that we were one of the first countries to take action.

France, Germany and Italy all acted after we did and the EU in general still hasn't implemented a ban. From reading a lot of commentary pieces I thought that we were lagging behind the world because of the trade deal between Modi and Johnson but it seems in reality we we bang in line with the rest of the world, if not a little in front.

Depends how expensive the real ones are though. When I went away in November they were £135 each, paying that on top of a holiday for a family of 4 is chunky enough for people to consider the cheap/fake option.

You were asking why I quoted those MPs to you, you appeared to take it personally. I simple was doing so as they were the ones leading mass rallies over the weekend.

I pointed out the Indian delegation simply to show it is not a political thing, I will openly say things against things I don't agree with whatever side of the political spectrum they are on.

Exactly my point why not get the jab and have no problems at the airport.
But the family would need at least 2 for both adults,.

OK. Maybe I'm being particularly thick today, but your point seemed as clear as mud. You completely confused me when you said about the Indian delegation - "you were in full support of the idiocy behind that" - when I was vociferously opposed to it.

If as you say the EU still don't have a ban on flights from India what would stop passengers flying into the EU then get a connection from the EU airport to the UK.

But because of our colonial/immigration history with India I imagine it's likely that we have far more air travel to and fro with India than most other European countries. Making it a bigger problem for us, requiring swifter and more decisive action which, as usual with dithering Johnson, didn't happen.

Ah, yes I see what you mean and that is a typo on my behalf hence why I copied you calling out the idiocy behind it. I was trying to point out and maybe not correctly due to a typo that you were like I was at the time calling it out as idiotic. I can see how the confusion has arised do to a typo making it sound like you supported the stance.

You reckon we have more air travel from India than the whole of Europe?

Doubtful but maybe. It's still extremely interesting that we were early and leading the process rather than being behind the curve. I would never have expected that with the way the conversation has been framed.

I wonder why we haven't heard that the EU are keeping the travel lanes open so they can suck up to Modi for a trade deal?

I don't know about the whole of Europe but I'd be surprised if we don't have far more air traffic with India than any other European country (which is what I said). This isn't an EU thing - it's individual countries making decisions about travel bans etc.
